Go ask BMW if it has to be coded in, otherwise yes mechanically it will fit.
On what grounds was it voided? For the guy who asked about leases, understand that they can't void your whole warranty in any case really. They void the warranty on a specific part or system and black list you. Which requires dealers to get approval before doing ANY warranty work.

only on up-shifts (even then, I can shift faster by skipping gears), when you go to the track, you need to down-shift.
that's what happens if you take AT to the track.

I can confirm that these ZF19Hp gearboxes cannot handle the torque levels when they are around 500nm.... like the jb 1.4 and procede is generating....
A very well informed tech told me that the zf 26hp would be a better candidate, but that one can't be programmed for our cars.... I have the same, slipping upon upshiffting... We are currently in processes of rebuilding my AT with better custom parts.... will post some info on that when ready....

^just curious because the longer and higher you brake torque the more heat builds up and can cause issues. I usually brake torque to 2500rpm for a couple seconds then go.

The ZF tranny on my ex E60 on it way out around 50k before I sell it (that's one of the reason I got my 335 ). Also heard bad comments about the new ZF 8 speed tranny that's using in the F01 & F10. ZF

my tranny handles fine with over 600 nm. i think it depends how you use it and brake torquing is definetely i recipe for disaster. i also very seldon pull from from a dig.

I have seen various (AT) cars with very high hp outputs (modified turbos) without any problem with the transmission, in spite of hundreds and thousands of miles on the track. Alpina_B3_Lux

I agree. It all depends on how you treat the tranny. Even a manual tranny can blow if you abuse it. Just keep power shifting lol

He has some ideas to improve the box, based on his knowledge about for example the 26hp box. Another aspect is from my personal experience (although not sure if that is of any value ;-) ) I do not do 1/4 miles or perform brakeboosting actions, I do track and do drive crazy now and then, but the engine never get pushed before warmed up properly. Many factors could be the cause of that. In my case having 140000 tuned Km's is not improving the picture neither. But the opinion of this engineer is at least for me very valuable, especially as he is not looking for business but is a technical oriented person in the ZF performance arena with an open mind about modding cars. And last but not least he is the first person that could show me exact figures and explanaition of the working of the gearbox and what the tolerances are. His first reaction was actualy, how it could be that BMW has added the 19 and not the 26 in this car... the rating of the 26 is much more in line with the engine performance, also from a safety tollerance point of view. (To his opinion, this was a money safer for BMW) Maybe also the reason that there is no ZF 19HP in the 335is, 1m and Z4... Only DCT or MT.... Anyway, it's depressing to have a broken AT, whatever cause... damn expensive joke...

Thanks for the info. Good to know the tranny held up 140.000 km. So the failure may or may not be related to the tuning, although the added torque will certainly not increase the longevity.
Can you already reveal which parts will be overhauled/improved? Are they able to provide a software for faster shifting times à la Alpina?

About the exact details I have to come back.. A nice article which I have posted before on this forum is:
http://www.speetjenstransmissions.nl...20Pointers.pdf It gives a lot of info about our tranny.
