I agree...if there is any problem in that area, a code would've been generated the moment the OP gave his keys to the SA.

CEA 3 give me a break. You modify your ECU and think BMW should replace any related part that goes bad? So if you engine blows you will just remove your PROcede and expect BMW to give you a new engine? You modified your car, you voided your warranty. Take some responsibility for your actions instead of lying about it.
About not having a PROcede... |

I have no doubt that fuel pumps are going bad on stock cars. I also have no doubt that adding an additional 60+ whp and 90+ wtq is going to cause more stress on the fuel pump.
The PROcede could have had nothing to do with your fuel pump going bad, but you modified your ECU and BMW has the right to deny a warranty claim that could have resulted from your modification. |

Are you an SA at Irvine BMW, Bimport?
Because you sure sound like one... the pumps in a certain time range have been shown to be DEFECTIVE. Exposing a defect in manufacturing because of increased fuel demands is still that: exposing a defect. It is not CREATING a defect. |

Bimport has valid points, but i think that with this issue in mind, it doesn apply.
CEA is not the only person with a defective fuel pump, out of the 100s maybe 1000s of them that are defective, less than 5% of those have aftermarket ECU mods that would even remotely be linked.

What happened to all you, "Ya gotta pay to play" people on the forum? If you did not think the PROcede was related to the fuel pump problem, why did you remove it? Because you wanted to have it both ways. Be a man and pay to have your own fuel pump replaced and stop whining that you got caught.

I agree. If the ECU had fried, then yeah, I could see their claim.
But to suggest a defective part would not have otherwise failed-- I don't see it. And then to blame it on the tires... jesus. If this were true, we'd all have to wear those idiotic RFTs ad nauseum otherwise, if the car spontaneously ignites, it's probably because the tires were throwing fault codes... |

Some people on this board will believe anything Shiv says. Do you mean to tell me that running 60+ whp and 90+ wtq requires no more fuel than stock. So if the PROcede was making 1000 hp there would be no greater strain on the fuel pump? Why do you think people have to upgrade their fuel pumps as they make more power?
How is the fuel pump not directly related to the car's ECU (PROcede)? The ECU controls the fuel pump. |
