Batteries are never covered under warranty unless if fails within the first year or so. Batteries rarely fail. I've been hearing of a recall for the new models but again that's rare and is probably a small batch.
Btw, you don't code a battery. You have to register it when it's replaced with the same spec. It has to be PROGRAMMED if you change spec or type (AGM vs non-AGM), then registered. |

Green means good charge. Black means discharged. Yellow or whatever color is left means a cell is dead. |

Had this exact problem this past winter. About a week or two before I got my license too lol. Turns out not only the battery was bad, but they had to replace two coils as well.

Took it into dealer. They tested and said it was at 20% or something and replaced free of charge. 45000 miles roughly.

Boost,
let me know if you hear otherwise. I have the cpo and maintenance for 6/100. My SF Bay Area SA says the battery could be covered, but only if there is some other part causing a drain that is not supposed to . Otherwise, he says I'm looking at $600 for a new battery. I'm all for understanding our cars are expensive, but you have to be realistic that $600 for a new battery is ridiculous. I'll be buying one from the auto store, and using the bavtech tool before I bother with the dealer on this one. sheesh..and they wonder why we call it the stealership.. |

I am picking up a battery for 269 from the dealer.
I've got the tool, so I'll do the install and program myself. We've come a long way from my 86 mustang where I just put a bigger battery in there for all my amps! |
