I'm pretty mixed about this fight.

1) Ortiz had Mayweather on the ropes, and was pushed off initially and was thinking he was about to be pushed off again so mmaaaaayyyybbbeeee he was anticpating that and trying to counter resulting in head butt. It did look intentional to me initially though like he was going all out and just leapt forward.

2) I think Mayweather was winning the fight already but wanted to get the easy win and saw a great opportunity. Expeirence beat out youth on that one.

I think fighters will always look to fight and win no matter how. Alot of them have a few dirty tricks up their gloves and it's up to the referee to keep the fighters in check and pay attention to everything going on and controlling the fight. Mayweather got exactly what he set out with this one. Easy win, tons of money, people wanting to see a rematch with him making even more "mills on mills on mills."

Two wrongs ended with Mayweather right.

Ref was looking at the time keeper to start the clock. Told them to fight then looked at the time keeper to make sure the clock started... Ortiz didn't think he told them to fight yet. Mayweather definitely saw an opportunity for a cheap shot as retaliation for the headbutt. The headbutt was done on purpose, because as a boxer you are conditioned to throwing punches and it becomes muscle memory, while headbutting takes a conscious effort. Ortiz looked to the ref because he thought time wasn't in, amateur move on his part for not defending himself at all times. He accepted the loss because he knows he initiated the dirty fighting. Watch the post fight press interview in addition to some of the replays. Also like Mayweather said you have have been in the ring and experienced boxing in order to understand and analyze the it. Mayweather did nothing wrong. And honestly the worse hits I've ever taken are from head clashes, punches don't hurt nearly as much... It's very disorientating.

looks like the ref was still breaking them up and hadnt signaled to start again..yes this is boxing but it's still a sport and professionalism means something..Ortiz learned a hard lesson but that was a cheap shot...Mayweather is a pro boxer..he knows Ortiz would have had his hands up if he was ready to start again.
