** update **
Still no news on when the replacement is due. (The part number if anyone is interested is 13 53 7 537 320)
I've just picked up my loan car. Get ready for this it's a 4 year old Mondeo Estate This is just not good enough. My 40 grand car is knackerd, I'm paying a fortune for the privilege and to top it all I've now got to drive around in a freakin 4 year old mondeo estate. To say I'm f****d off is somewhat of an understatement. I'm going to complain to BMW (for wat it's worth), so I'll let you know how I get on.

What is a BMW dealership doing with a 4 year old loan car?!
Matt> I have to say a number of the mods I see on here should end up on barryboys.co.uk. Less is more as they say! I was worried today I might find my E46 convertible on there as the search results for BMW and Convertible came up with an AC Shnitzer black one but on closer inspection it was a lot more barry'd than mine is

As they don't know how long it's going to take to get the part, the car is being suppllied through BMW rather than by the dealer. This means that it's a hire car. Add to thi I live on the Isle of Wight so there are no main hire companies (Hertz, Enterprise) etc... I'm having to put up with what's available locally.

So they took back the 1 series loaner and gave you the Mondeo!!! - I am not surprised you are f*****d off. This is the sort of attitude that loses customers permanently, you have just spent £40k on a car with little or no discount giving Snows BMW full profit margin. I don't know their margin, but assuming 15% - Thats around £5-6000!!! pure profit and then they ask for their loan car back and give you a 4yr old Mondeo Estate - Unbelievable

What they should have done is left you in the loaner and hired a car for the member of staff who was left without. |

I read this at work this afternoon, just as I was about to walk out the office to go to a meeting and was really shocked at what you said.
No way is this in any way reasonable or acceptable. You really should say something to the dealer or BMW customer services about it. As NFS says the staff at the dealers will all be using BMW's so asking you to make do with a Ford Mondeo is not acceptable. Let us know how you get on. Quote:

Glad to hear they're putting you in something more sensible.
From the posts on fuel pumps and length of delivery doing the rounds it does seem that they are taking a long time to come in. Perhaps that has something to do with the shortage of engines / delivery delays being reported.

The Soxter S is certainly an improvement over the mondeo estate!
6 weeks is a while though, so much for the original estimate!

If it's really going to take 6 weeks I'd have 2 words for your dealer: 'financial compensation' If that doesn't work try ... "trade of goods act" |

Lets hope its not six weeks, but atleast they are now loaning something more in keping with your own car.
Snows seem to be doing their best for you after some prompting, are they sending the Boxster over from the mainland - I don't see Bartletts or Fairlee Service Station stocking too many Porsches!!! |

The boxter would sweeten things for me though. I'd be livid if I was stuck with the old Mondeo!

The mondeo fiaso was down to the fact that BMW use Enterprise Car hire for their replacement vehicles and as they don't have an office on the island it was sub-contracted out to a local merchant. I think there was some cock-up in the process and I ended up with the mongo. After speaking with my CA, BMW were contacted and a few heated phone calls later, hey presto, a Boxster appeared. It's very nice, but I would still rather have by E93.

Thanks for all your support with this guys
I've picked the up the Boxster and it's really good. My dealer has now confirmed that it will definitely be weeks rather than days, but as to how many they just don't know. I'm off for a weekend away so I'll let you know I get on with the Boxster when I get back. Cheers Keith

Hi everyone.
I'm Having fun with the Boxster. It's brilliant around the country lanes, but not very comfortable on the motorway! I'll post a couple of pics of my 'loaner' later. Still no news on my E93. We're approaching 2 weeks now and I have'nt heard a thing from BMW yet, not even a letter or phone call to apologise for the inconvinience. This is pretty poor customer care.
