Ok, I just tried to take apart as much as I could. Couldnt remove the glove box after taking out the 5 screws. It would just wiggle in place, so if anyone knows how to get that out, lemme know.

I removed all the filters and stuff at the bottom of the windshield. The ONLY place I could find that I could slip through the firewall was through the rubber boot surrounding the steering column. I really couldnt get much higher up the firewall because theres so much crap right there.

Anyway, this is turning into more of a hassle than I bargained for. Not really sure this whole thing is worth it. I still cant find a place to mount it in the car without it looking out of place or even visible to me when Im driving.

A lot of things are ghetto to you huh?

Autometer boost gauges are 50 bucks, vacum hose to run everything is 10 bucks or less, and then a custom mount youll be way under 100 bucks....but it works the same as a 400 dollar gauge...yet its ghetto?

Boost gauge should come stock on a turbo car these days...its the best investment on a turbo car you can ever do.

you dont have time to read every post ive posted? so how is it that you feel you have the right to come to the conclusion that

"your like a fuckin nat at a BBQ just buggin the fuck out of everyone....so far all of your post have been negative and worthless"

thats pretty ignorant if you havent even read more than 5 of my posts now isnt it?

so again, shoo shoo little mushi.

hyper at least try and hooking it up through the molding before you give up on it, you might find it works well, or you might end up just liking the gauge so much that it gives you that determination to route it through the firewall

For the record, I never intended to NOT install it. Im just having a hard time finding a way to route it. I only said that running the wires around the A-pillar door jam was ghetto considering youd be able to see the black wire whenever the door is opened. If I wasnt going to use it, Id obviously return it.

Im going to make this work no matter what. I think Ive come up with the idea of fabricating a mounting bracket that I can attach to the steering column. This might come out pretty sweet, Ill keep everyone posted.

I do appreciate the input and Im going to make this work. Lets all try to get along and not get so crazy with each other.

Id like for all of us to come up with solutions to these problems and figure things out for anyone that might follow me in doing something like this.

wait... letting hyper know that he doesnt have to route it through the firewall and could do it through the frame was useless and negative? i must redifine my definition of useless and negative then. plus since you want to judge me off 5 posts i already provided you with several contributing posts to save you the effort. mind taking your ignorant misplaced banter somewhere else where it belongs rather than a thread about a boost gauge and how to install it?

Ill do a DIY for this when I get completely going.

Honestly I cant believe this isnt a mod that everyone is doing... i think a boost gauge is a must on a TC car.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi @ all

Is the vacuum line shown in the picture below the diverter hose and the right place to tap into with the boost gauge's hose ? Please ignore the text in the picture.

Thank you for feedback.

Cheers
Eugen

The picture is extracted from the AA BOV installation manual. I hope it's ok with them.

^ yes. I just pulled up the line between the two diverter valves and found one long vacuum line to tap into. Its nice that its right in the open and easy to get to. Ill keep everyone up to date with a DIY on this with lots of pics.

Anyone know how to make vacuformed pieces and where to get materials?
