So Yesterday i took off ar dps n put back stock dps n took out jb4. Bam not an ounce of smoke!! So then i put jb4 back in with stock dps and still no smoke!!!! So what iam saying is when i had ar dps with stock exhaust wit secondary cats no smoke!! Wit ar dps n vangaurd fully catless tons of smoke! Then when i have stock catted dps with catless vangaurd no smoking!!!!! So is all the free flowing air and having no back pressure from cats causing the turbos to pull in oil and or threw the pcv vale and burning it???? Do these cars need some sort of back pressure so they dont smoke?? My question is if i put ar dps back on and put secondary cats on vangaud same place were cats were on stock exhaust do you think the smoking will still stop?? Cause it always stoped completely when i had either just secondary cats or primary cats on?? Im confused now!! Thanks

^This..u do realize that cats especially the primary cats mask burning oil issues.the cats scrub the smoke out..so just b/c u dont seee it doesnt mean its not happening..

I agree. In a recent post RB was speaking of just this subject, backpressure. If it was faulty seals, then adding a cat wouldn't totally eliminate the smoking, and in this case, it does.

This is irrelavant since the OP is running stock and for the record there has been no proof offered that this was the case w RBs just alot of conjecture... trying to draw a line between a smoking car and catless downpipes is like trying to fit a square peg into a triangle slot..it just helps those running upgraded turbos to have a scapegoat to blame for their issues..e.g., catless dowpipes, OCC etc...

Bottom line is cats especially in the DPs will mask the oil smoke..to the point that it is reduced or non existent

I run full catless just like countless others w no smoking issues
