You gained 2 mph because it is a faster tune and more powerful. I'd love to gain 2 mph in the quarter.
But somehow even with xi and auto your launch is what lets you down. |

Read my above post regarding my car seeming like it is on a delay for launch (before & after Cobb). So if something is wrong w/the car, surely someone else has already had this issue... |

too many variables to compare times based on two specific instances. need a larger sample size at the very least. go back and run a few times and post up your slips.

I looked through the drag times post and there was a 100% stock 335 running 13.0x with sticky street tires. (The thread is really long and search on e90post is useless for searching for stuff like that) so maybe not on run flats but the car itself is def cappable.

By the way, the fact that you didn't get a faster time yet had a 2mph increase in trap says you didn't launch as well. You should be 13.0 or 13.1. So it's 300 bucks for another 2-3 tenths plus another 2mph plus other features/reasons. |

Pick one or the other. If it's not about tune vs tune, then you need to compare your STOCK time/trap vs the Cobb. |

@Op
When you installed Cobb on your car how many miles did you put on it before you ran the 1/4 mile run ? Also before installing Cobb did you have the ECU reset ? If not or couldnt the Cobb App could have done this for you before installing the preferred driving map. Last edited by BQTuning; 10-01-2011 at 12:45 PM.. |

first Gear? Brake? Gas? Let off Brake and go WOT same time? Was that your launch?
2 MPH is a huge pick up. If you can work out the launch it will be even better. You can only be so much faster on an otherwise stock car. |

Brake and Gas. Just like any automatic. Apparently the OP is still bogging at the launch though. So either its too much throttle input with the brake or not enough. (BTW this methodology of launching is not recommended for long term).

Regardless of how bad of a launch and this and that. At the end of the day, there's only so much to be had with an otherwise almost stockish car.....like other said, 2mph more means SOMETHING. If you want a better time/trap, then start to add OTHER supporting mods to your car. As a DCI or a drop-in filter isn't gonna cut it no way, no how....
And if you say that you're not gonna mod your car anymore than what you have now, then yes, you have clearly wasted your $$ and should have just stuck with the JB IMO. It's like complaining when you run the 'aggressive' maps without all other supporting mods and getting codes, rough WOTs and such because you're not cutting the times that ALL other properly modded cars are getting, then blame it on the tune......C'mon man, really? More PSI =/= more HP. That's only true when the mods on your car supports it......

Were you on any medication at the time?
BTW, in my opinion Cobb totally worth $800 for many reasons main one being that I never have to get under the hood to uninstall for that kind of performance increase... |
