Problem is, that if I wait 8 weeks I will no longer be eligible (must be within 60 days of purchase)... perhaps they plan it that way:

"Must be submitted, received, and processed within 5 hours of sale."

I don't think that's totally accurate. The paperwork comes from the CCA site, but is sent to NA. The check comes from NA, and any questions go to NA. I had some problems submitting mine, so I asked the regional VP of the CCA to check something for me. He contacted the president of CCA, who siad that the form comes direct from NA and is posted on the Club web site, and that's it.

I think CCA just provides the form, and probably does some back office verification of membership. (I suppose I could have just enclosed a photocopy of my 10-year pin.)

I think this is correct, I do recall sending the form to BMWNA in Jersey.

Right. You have to have been a member for the 12 months prior to delivery, and a member in good standing at the time of delivery. As far as I can tell, there's NO exceptions.

If I understand the history correctly, CCA was started here (Boston). Our activities tend to be in two areas -- driving events and social/show events, and it's pretty amazing how little crossover of participants there is. Not that it DOESN'T happen, just that it doesn't happen a lot.

Full disclosure: I was the editor of the Boston Chapter magazine, Boston Bimmer, for a little over a year. I'm also on the committee that plans & runs the annual Concours d'Elegance.

This may sound silly, but my one year anniversary of CCA membership is on 5/26 (card says "member since 5/26/2006"). My e91 should be at the dealer before this, and I obviously want to get it as quick as possible.

Question is, can I take delivery of the car on 5/26 (Saturday), or do I have to suffer through the three day weekend and pick it up on Tuesday 5/29?

Any input appreciated.

Dale - I believe you have to be a member in good standing for 366 days. I would play it safe and wait until after the weekend. It would be like paying $500 more for a day earlier delivery!

Led is right, you are not eligible for the BMW CCA Reward Program until you are a member for 1 year plus 1 day (after completion of your first year of membership).

Pet peeve - MINI remains excluded from the program.

I heard that if you submit your paperwork before your car arrives in the US that they put it aside and there is a much higher chance of them losing the paperwork. Best to wait till you're sure its on US shore.
