There is 'business' and there is 'whats right'...
And you think CA's have never done so or push back production of your car to make profit. I DON"T THINK SO! I'd bet you that lots of ppl have their car pushed back weeks just so the guy that came in with the same spec and he's willing to pay msrp.

All I'm saying is if he can sleep at night knowing he did what is "unethical" then do it. I'm sure none of you can sleep at night knowing you did something unethical. Tylenol PM?

To the OP, why don't you just ask the damn CA that treated you like platinum about saving a few more dollars and if he says he can't do it just take the friggin car. You get what you pay for, maybe service is better.

I never want my CA to honest because I know they can't be. It's a sales business and they'll be stupid to do so. I've been in sales for 2 years and were top of the new england region before quitting(couldn't deal with the shadiness anymore) and I was making boat loads of money. Took a huge paycut, but I can sleep at night now .

I know where everyone is coming from and it is wrong to do so. When I answer the OP's question the scrooge in me took over because I know how hard and easy it is to earn(and lose) $$$.

I believe in the Golden Rule "do unto others..." Even if dealers do shady things, I wouldn't want to stoop to that level. It is one thing if you found another dealer with a similar car, but what the OP is asking about is just wrong.

With that said, I don't think it would work, the car would probaly be sold within minutes of him cancelling the order.

Once the dealer places the order out of its own build slots, doesn't the car belong to that dealer and its own inventory until they sell it? At the point the dealer takes delivery, I believe the car is legally theirs, and the transaction w/ BMW NA is fully consummated. Consequently, you can't just buy your car through another separately owned dealership.

Maybe you can get your dealer to price match though, or at least come down a bit?

I just asked a damn question, I never even said it was even a real senario. I was just wondering if that was even possible. You would think everyone of you was CAs.

Don't you have to put down a deposit when you order? Probably wouldn't get that back... and you would have to wait another 2 months to get another car built b/c no way in hell that dealer is going to let the car that was delivered go to another dealer...

I guess with all the Bullsh*t in the World, people here needed to vent.

Its nice to know that (as I always assumed) most people will do the 'right thing'.

For that OP..I thank you!

You have to look out for #1, YOU.

If you can save money then do it. There is no reason to just give your money away, you worked hard for it so saving it is not a stupid move.

If the dealers can trade the same car then do it. The dealer and CA will never waste a chance to screw you (not every dealer and CA of course) so don't be afraid to do what you want to do.

Another approach might be to just renegotiate the price to what the DealerB is offering you.
