Here's a photo with my 3rd gen. iPod and Belkin car kit.
The sound is awesome. Have no problem in the music volume

Until the BMW-iPod itegration for e90 will be announced, this would be a good solution for those who are iPod users.

Aux in cable for BMW models

Hey, I guess you may have got your cable now but i got mine from www.incarcables.com. They were pretty quick and it cost about £3.99. Perhaps worth a try. In my experience the hard wire cables are way better audio quality.

If you don't need to charge it at the same time, here is a really good and inexpensive solution. I've bought from them before, very reliable and quick.

If you want one with a charger with a line out, Belkin Auto Kit, Monster icarcharger, or the Sendstation Smartcharge.

I have the cable without the charger, works great.
