Seriously people, if anyone's going non-contract check out http://giffgaff.com From £10 per month you get unlimited internet, unlimited texts, 250 mins per month and unlimited Gif Gaf to Gif Gaf calls. Their top package gives you that + 1500 mins per month for £25. Allot of providers have capped mobile Internet which is shocking for an iPhone.
The best thing is they're part of Telefonica so they run on the O2 network so coverage is good

Says 'Ships by 14 Oct.' on the confirmation.
Like that other fellow posted, you can't beat GiffGaff for PAYG and U/L internet...can't believe they are part of Telefonica and offer such great VFM while O2 behave like all the other major networks. Just need to sell my IP4 :P |

How does the internet work if you dont top up each month for the £10 deal? Presumably you dont get free internet for the next month and it starts to eat into your credit? Cheers. Andy |

Not too sure mate, not started using it myself as I'm waiting for my contract to run out. I assume it's top up each month or lose it but could be wrong. It seems to say in order to keep the free giffgaff to giffgaff calls you only need to top up every three months which is quite remarkable.
There's a massive forum on there so shouldn't be too hard to get an answer. Their tarrif for when you run over is really cheap as well, whereas you often end up grabbing your ankles with the likes of O2! The wife and I both already have iPhones and are on £45 per month contracts with O2 so looking at a joint household saving of £600 per year if we both go for the £20 goodybag. I reckon though we'll might be able to get away with less if we're careful, have to see how it goes! Given giffgaff to giffgaff is free the more family and friends you can recruit to it the better!

I have a iPhone4 with o2, I have just mazuma'ed it for £280. The new 4s has been ordered with Voda for £280 on a 12 month deal at 46quid per month and £59 cashback on the bill. So thats another Free phone, in 12 months when the next one arrives the 4s will be worth a bit more than £280.
I don't think I have paid for a mobile in the last 5 years. lol (other than line rental)

Rather than £46 per month for 12 months = £552 (forgot £59 off my bill so thats £493 over 12 months.)

If you buy a 'Goody Bag' and it comes with U/L 3G then its unlimited (but no tethering allowed). It really is good stuff - before you join, ask someone who is already a member here to recommend you...you both get £5 free credit and sometimes other freebies too!

Don't forget there are some big cashback offers on Quidco or Topcashback to take into account on your calculations. You might find these are bigger for a SIM only contract which might offset the difference.

FWIW (very little in this thread i reckon) i'm not a slave to ITunes, so there are other options eg Orange San Fran for £89. Currently have a 2 year old HTC Desire which even for a geek like me does everything i need. Just lacks some internal memory. |

giff gaff looks interesting - i might give it a go
Only thing i don't get is the tethering which most companies don't allow without bolt ons. How are they going to know. With my phone i just turn on wifi hotspot and connect my iPad to it and it uses my 3g connection and transmits it over wifi. I do the same things as i do on my phone, just have a bigger screen to do it on. |
