Mine is Tungsten, the metal is brushed in the center, almost to the edges, but about 2mm from each edge it slants down on a 45 degree angle to a comfort fit. The 2mm on each side is NOT brushed, rather its polished to a mirror like finish so it flashes a little and catches the eye.

Tungsten is heavy though - I happen to like that, but its not for everyone.

I've also got a tungsten ring and love it. Receive constant compliments. Simple, understated and doesn't mark at all. Had mine for just shy of 4 years and it still looks exactly like it did the day I bought it.

Stay away from the cobalt and tungsten rings. They're cheap and crazy strong but here is the downside. Ever break your ring finger or get the ring stuck on. There is no easy trip to the jewelers to get it cut off. You have to have firemen spot hit it with liquid nitrogen and smack it off with a chisel and hammer. No thanks.

You can cut a cobalt ring off your finger, it just requires two cuts, and it takes a little longer.

I've got a Scott Kay cobalt ring now (lost my original after 13 years, that wasn't a terribly pleasant convo with the wife.....) Tough as hell, and very comfortable to wear.

Congrats OP, good to hear you found the right girl just like I did couple years ago. I have to admit it was fun going with my fiance to pick out a band at the time. I ended up going with a black tungsten band, which looks pretty cool. She picked it out for me, thought it was weird at first but it looks good and I get lots of positive comments on it.

Thanks man... yeah, I was looking at those, and they look pretty cool. I'll have to check out the black bands, because I think I'll like it, but I have to see how they'll look on my hand to be sure.

hmm the jewler I was at made it seem like a big deal. Kinda scared me off. Prolly a story they told me to make me spend more money haha. I bought all 3 rings from them so I don't know why they would lie, I mean they obviously had my business it was just bumping me from a $400 band to a $800 band. Which considering I should be keeping it for the rest of my life I didn't care too much about cost. I know double the price but is it really worth lying over and lossing future business?
