Perhaps this has been asked before, but how would you compare the lag, if you can, to a B5 S4? A chipped B5 S4?

I found with my B5 S4 I *really* needed to "work" with the boost coming on to get a smooth ride out of it. sometimes more than others.

I found a non-chipped B5 S4 did have turbo lag, but not too bad. Of course, the N54 has nearly none. Does the PROCede/Xede seem like that, or more of the chipped B5 S4 boost lag?

Haha, if I went by board members' attitudes, I'd buy something other than a BMW.

Nice review, thanks. Tomorrow I will update my PROcede to map 1.45 and try to write something if I am not too lazy!

I bought a Procede because of Xede dousche bags posting b.s. about Procede or why they claim Xede is better. Just kidding. I bought my Procede based on its outstanding qualities before AA had a product.

I don't think he has to elaborate on anything. He explained why he doesn't want to get into it,so that should be enough. I'm a procede guy myself, and I thought his write up was done very well.

I went with PROcede because even a$$holes can perform basic arithmetic and appreciate the novelty of updated maps and features. If you choose mods based on the forum character of those endorsing said product, you'll never mod your car. Regardless, if the personas affected by forum members were a viable basis for mod selection, we'd all have the AA Xede, because Terry's choice would be the benchmark.

Again, HE brought it up! I was interested in his review of the AA Xede, but basing your purchase on the attitudes on this forum and not the merits of the product is illogical.

I know. But HE is also the one who said he didn't want to elaborate. I also agree with YOU, I find it odd to base a buying decision on the attitudes and bs comments made by forum members. I just think if he doesn't want to explain himself in detail, I don't think it's a big deal.

Tuning products have become what we call in marketing "high-involvement products" for the people following this forum. When the functionality is similar, one bases the purchase on the associations that the product has. In the forum the associations are, for a large part, the people who use the product. This is how product choice, marketing and market economy works. It has profound foundations in sociology. One cannot say it is illogical.

congrats on your puchase and nice write up. Glad to hear your happy about your product. In the end, it's what makes YOU happy, and not what others think or feel.

I decided to go with Vishnu Procede. I read up alot before the purchase, and it looked like it was the best for me. I own my car and plan on keeping it 8+ years. I need something that will last, not harm my cpu, simple map upgrades, power yet still keep it's original feel when driving under normal conditions and not a regular car - BOOM power kicked it. I have not spined my tires yet since i purchase the PROcede, and i'm running my RFT and i have MT.

Congrats!

I'm going to buy the Procede because I don't like Carlito12's reason for buying the Xede.

I felt both products were good .. so it became a personal choice.

If PROcede was the ONLY piggyback mod available, I would have ordered it, regardless of attitudes here.

But since I had a choice, I made a decision.

AGAIN, decision was NOT BASED sorely on conducts of the forum members. It was influenced by it, in the end.

I do not want to get into specific details regarding it here. Its all negative. I really don't feel this forum is the place to air out my personal feelings regarding other members and their posts.

Analogy:

New York Yankees have the best talent overall money can buy, arguably.

However, not everyone in New York has a season ticket at the yankee stadium. Some choose to go watch the Mets, or Phillies, or, dare I say it?, even the Redsox. Their reasons for having their favorite teams are all personal.

Hell, the Yankees can't even buy a World Series anymore...

IF you MUST know every specific detail cause you are losing sleep over it, PM me and I will tell you.

I tried very hard not to be negative toward specific product or person, so I 'd appreciate the same courtesy.

If SOMEONE could please ANSWER few of MY questions at the end of my original post, I 'd really appreciate that, too.

2- Any good Dyno place in Southern Cal? Besides the LAPD? thx but no thx, Terry335.

3- Can we focus our animosity towards other makes, such as Audi ?
After all, we all love our 335i with the n54, right? We will see who the best driver is on the tracks.
Bump on questions to be answered

When did I state that I never considered the merits of the products?? or that the whole decision was based sorely on attitudes?

Researching the products as well as keeping an open mind would be the foremost thing to do, IMO.

Not true. Sociology may have an impact but it is still illogical regardless.

How about in your original post....: "it was based on few of the members and their behavior on this forum"

Now I'm really confused.
