Thats why you ended up with a 330i, it was easy & local. (Aswell as being fully loaded)

No to blind.
TBH it's the local that did it for me, couldn't be bothered to spend time trawling adverts and calling people and then going and seeing cars.

Its not fully loaded, but only had 40k miles and came with the things that I felt were essential such as leather and not the beige leather/wood trim combination. Loved the car so far and agree with most in relation to 325i/330i debate. There isnt much difference in the MPG's and 335's arent much more expensive so the best time to buy them. I couldnt afford a good 325d m-sport but could afford the 335i m-sport and I am so glad that was the case.

I drove the 330i/d, and the 335i/d, found the 330i lacking (well, not so much lacking, just significantly less than) the 335i/d. Its not that the 330i is slow, far from it, its a rapid beasty, just that the 35's are significantly pokier. I think if you drive a 35 you'll not settle for a 30.
The 325i E92 I had a few weeks ago sounded good but damn it felt dog slow, it certainly didn't feel like there was 218 horses under the bonnet. Won't bother going into pro's cons of remaps, tuning etc, that all depends on whether you're wanting a warranty or not. |

The 335i is the only way to go if you are buying a petrol, they have a few reliability issues but I think the rate of occurrence is greatly exaggerated on forums.
The current 3 series looks great in both coupé and convertible but the coupé will be easier to find in your price range and there will also be a lot more choice. You can pick up the saloons for a lot less but it just depends how much priority you put on the looks. |

As for manual v auto, I've never once thought I needed a manual, even when giving it some stick. The Auto box in conjunction with the steering wheel paddles is spot on, and on downshifts it makes the exhaust howl wonderfully.

If you're prepared to try the auto, also be worth looking at the 335d too. Horses for courses and I'm sure we don't need to go through the pros and con of each, but as I (and all the other D owners will vouch), 4th gear will sling from about 35 to 120. Gearbox schmearbox. The argument rages on about which is better / faster / sounds better / yadda yadda, but either model will wreck 90% of stuff on the road, I don't think you'll be left wanting in performance of either model. |

I left the manual along time ago, as a daily driver I don't require a manual at all, auto is where its at.
My car is for realistacally getting me from A to B and usually in rush hour traffic or stop and go traffic, I don't need to "drive" my car as manual owners would put it.. The Caterhams and Atoms cover for that weekender job ![]()

I was offered 6k for my E90 by BMW (06 plate, 72k miles) last month. Best trade price I got by talking to about 6 dealers was 7200. I was hoping for 8500. A year previous the car was worth 11k. Managed to sell it privately for a price I was happy with in the end; But perhaps I got lucky. Very good time to buy but by contrast very very bad time to have to sell. Better off holding on till march or so as that car will be worth the same in 6 months as it is now I'd wager.
