Get the dealer to check the wheel. I had the same problem and forced them to check the actual wheel, they found they had a number of small holes in the alloy and replaced them.

Just had what I think is my first RFT puncture as well. Driving home down the A46 latish last night and suddently the red tyre symbol came on the central display, along with a warning on the I Drive screen saying pressure loss etc.
Pulled over as soon as I could and checked all the pressures (would be very helpful if it told you which tyre it was, as visually you can't tell just by looking at the tyre) with my tyre gauge - the offside rear was showing 30psi - normally would be 36. On the basis that I didn't have nore than about 12 miles to go to home and that 6psi loss didn't seem catastrophic I carried on. I checked the tyre pressure again this morning when cold and it showed 26psi, so I inflated it with a mini-compressor (very handy device to have in your garage or boot!) back to 36. Haven't driven the car all day but just checked it again and it's showing 36 still. Also had as good a look at the tyre as I can and can't see anything in it - but aasume there must be as it can't be porous alloy's or poor fit after 6K fault free miles can it?

Anyway nowhere open today, but checked with nearest BMW stealer - Soper of Lincoln and they do sell tyres - reason that they are probably the best bet for having a 255/40 R17 Potenza in stock if I do need a new one - will ask them about repair first though! Supposed to be driving to Hartlepool on business tomorrow but don't really want to risk it in case I were to damage the tyre wall and then it would have to be replaced! Anyone any idea what the replacement cost would be?
