Scary is RIGHT... I'm leaving out of the country for a couple weeks in June and I was afraid I might not get the car by then... now, it's almost here!

So I'm thinking... 7 days at VPC... 2 days on the road... maybe I'll get it by May 30?

I've been getting this impression as well. Why is this? Just to get cash ASAP?

Probably to get the holdback or hit quota. And it's good for inventory costs - if the car turns as soon as it's on a lot, the dealer is a lot more efficient, financially. Usually there are month end sales blitzes or pushes and (with other brands) you can push for a stronger deal at end of month.

hey welcome AU335... I'm actually surprised--it seems like it's only the 4 of us here on this thread that are aboard the Western Highway... ah well... Just 3 more days to go until we're docked and unloaded... seems like FOREVER aways though...

Do any of you guys have mods lined up?? So far I've just got the following:
Angel Eyes: GP Thunders (8300K)
Fog lights: MTEC (4200K)
Cornering lights: MTEC (4200K)
Painted Reflectors (from Long)
PROcede (should be shipping out next week when Shiv finally crimps all those wires...)

In addition, I bought a minijack-to-minijack cable, Monster iPOD Car Charger, and Scosche remote control for my iPOD so I can hook it up in my center console and control it with the remote...

My next mod will probably be an LSD... I'm just waiting for more to come out (right now I think there is only the Quaife one) and to hear some reviews of the Quaife.

I'm crossing my fingers that our ship makes it into Port Charleston tomorrow. I'm kinda having my doubts...I checked the Port's website and on their "Vessel Schedule" it has our ship down for docking on 5/24.

My CA told me 5/21 and the ETA from the tracking shot was a 2nd source. My CA also told me "for sure" that I could take delivery on may 30 (am in south FL). So, backing into the math, it sounds like it would have to be 5/21 to take delivery by end of May, and also that fits w/ the ETA. But of PoC doesn't have the Western Highway docking till 5/24, then...?

So my CA called me this morning and left me a message saying that the Western Highway left port on May 13 (which it did) but that it was a 12-day ship, meaning that it would arrive at port on May 25th! From there, it would take another 5-7 days through customs and the VPC.

I have a feeling he's exaggerating the dates just to be on the safe side... because for the average buyer, if he tells them a date and the car gets there later, he is in trouble, but if it gets here "early" (which is actually on-time) then the buyer thinks he's an awesome salesman.

Anyways, I am still hoping the ship is set to land tonight, so if anyone hears anything between today and tomorrow, let me know so I can call my CA back!

Nope, I don't have a clue either where it is. I'm guessing it will be here by Thursday the 24th. Think my car will make it to Columbus, OH for delivery on June 1 or 2?

There is no subscription required for sailwx. I still don't understand how msimon got that information. Sailwx only shows the position of a ship, if it reports this data, this is voluntary...and varies for each ship.

To show you, goto http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/index.html and type in Western Highway under search by name...you won't get anything.

But type in "Undine" (another ship currently transporting BMWs), you'll find its location.

So, either I'm missing something incredibly subtle...or msimon made up something just to make us feel better about our ship.

justed checked the Charleston Port vessel schedule website and found out that the Western Highway will be at the Union Pier Terminal. Its looking like the date of tomorrow(24th) is when our babies will finally be on U.S. soil.

Getting closer everyday. I wonder if our cars go straight to truck, or use a rail system immediately. It said Norfolk Southern on the sheet my CA emailed me, I think this is a rail company. Hopefully it will be there by the end of the week next week!!
