All of the comments about the what-if's on Raikkonen driving earlier this year aren't taking into account his pressure to develop the car. That car wouldn't be ending in the same place had other drivers been behind the wheel.

I am actually looking forward to this. I miss Hakkinen. Though Raikkonen kind of tended to just run all of his words together into one superwordsentence. If memory serves me right.

Second half of page 1 is to what I was refering. But I meant what-if's about Kubica, not Raikkonen, driving when he was not.

Apologies, I just had Raikkonen on the brain.

You pretty much made the same point here anyways.

Makes more sense now. If the car was such shit, I don't know how Heidfeld and Petrov were both able to podium with it and how Petrov and Senna were both able to pepper themselves into Q3 on several occasions. They were mixed in or just behind Ferrari and Mercedes who have some of the best drivers in the sport. With a real driver, which Kubica certainly is, I think they would have easily been fighting with McLaren and Ferrari.

Kimi's interview after signing with Renault:

Some classics in there:
Q: Have you been following F1?
A: (Not really)... "I watched the last 20 laps of Brazil because I knew this was going to happen and wanted to see how the team did..."

Personally, this is one of my favorite Kimi quotes (first 10 seconds):

he was one of my favorite drivers since I've been watching back in the early 2000s when he was just a test driver. I liked him the 1st time I saw him, and Im not sure how I feel about him coming back after being with Ferrari...
I will always be biased and think he is one of the most talented drivers, and the most special person on the grid. I honestly miss him dearly in F1, but I guess having Kimi, winning or not, is better than no Kimi.

At this point, a race on the moon seems more likely.

I think we still have until the end of this week to hear the final verdict for next year. Let's not forsake it just quite yet, as I think we all still want it to happen.

You know just as well as I how fast things can turn around in F1.

Bernie really is an asshole. I had no idea that the prize money for constructors championship isn't paid until after the FOLLOWING season? He's got some balls demanding race organizers to pay him a year in advance of the race then delays payment to winners for an additional year, letting the money float around for 2 years.

Bernie has done a lot of good for the sport over the years for sure, but then again some of the other things he does just make you say WTF.
