What a nightmare!

I know the section of road. I have never heard of such a thing and have driven in Edinburgh for the last 11 years!

I would be fizzing!

Palmnuts style multiquote coming upo!!

BTW the solicitors i was thinking about only deals with criminal motoring offences. As it's a civil issue they don't touch it. Will see what comes through in the post and take it from there. Hopefully nothing!

It is horrible they can dish out a penalty without no method of contesting but when the car asbo was brought out the boy racer scene was getting out of control.
Think release fee is £300.....cynical me thinks it's an easy way of making money!

Makes me also wonder how many ASBOS were dished out to teenagers for sitting in their cars in McDonalds car park for example because they were 'menacing'. And they'd probably not have the resources to go to a solicitor etc.

I don't mean the ones with stupidly loud exhausts racing up and down high streets.

On a serious note, I'd be well pissed off if this had happened to me, especially if there is no appeal. Just don't see how punishments can be handed out in this way .
I've got a 370z convertible courtesy car I'd asked for a navara with the weather we're going to get again. But all out. So it probably won't get much use anyways.

I've been doing more reading and apparently the first port of call is a solicitor to get disclosure from the Area Chief. I'll complete this thread when i get all the info.

This should help:

Good luck
That's a great document. Evidence required for seizure

Thank you very much for that. Eased my mind a little. Still think i will contest it though

They don't need evidence in the first instance as per HotCoupe's link. But do so in 2nd instance. And recovery is £105 - not £300 as i was told.

So this changes things slightly in that i'm not so concerned about getting pulled for nothing.

From googling Lothian police seem quite erm keen on it's use.

I've been to Nobles a dozen times and i just cruise up that road. It's not a road where you can go fast even if you want to. It's always busy!

It's annoyed me more that it's taken up so much of my day and i've got tons of work on!!

Sounds like the Police are just trying to meet their targets and stopping people for the sake of it.
I was watching a Traffic Cops type progamme on Channel 5 a few months ago and they were filming around Luton. They said the Police actually get points awarded for the offenses they deal with. And these points have to add up to a certain target figure every month.

I'd go to the Independent Police Complaints Commission

Funnily a mate of mine said i was disgrace to "people of colour" (he uses that phrase to make me laugh) for not standing up for myself at the roadside. He's sure it was racially motivated But then he is ginger (well his facial hair is!)

So you're comment made me smile because that's the kinda thing he'd do!

This thread is turning very racist

I'd like to hear your honest thoughts on the Zed; either PM or a general thread. Alway good to hear other opinions, especially from a GTR owners perspective.

Nah i'd never play the racist card not even if i was ginger!
I'm sure anyone driving that car at that time would have been pulled for whatever reason. Others disagree.........

If the weather stays good i'll give the 370z a good run and do a write up (mini one!). I put £20's worth of petrol in it, so i need to drive it somewhere

Did notice a lot of wind noise with the convertible top. Heated seats are better than GTR. But need to get comfy with the car first before making further comment.

Things to note -
The convertible is freakin noisy with wind & road noise
Heated seats are too hot; I find the lowest setting burning my back
£20 won't go too far if you're driving it properly
