I have tried a lot of stuff to get rid of the drone when on the street. Tired putting larger mufflers with a bigger resonator and it doesnt seem to work. It gets quieter but still drones. 2k-2.5k is the worst spot for drone. After that or below that theres no cabin drone at all.

My buddy at magna flow said that bmw will do anything to reduce sound noise in the cabin even if that means lossing a couple hp. Esp on the non M models, since they arent really " sporty."

Thats why on the stock exhaust there are a lot of unessesary crushes and crimps.
Hmm, I have 2.5" pipes along with a a cross-over pipe and I'm planning on replacing the cross-over with that magnaflow mid-pipe muffler that you are using. I really hope this takes that annoying 2k-2.5k rpm drone that I am getting. Thanks for posting up some of your findings, since I was also considering chaning out the rear mufflers as well.

It will lessen the drone for sure. But I dont think it will completely remove it. Let me know how it goes.

Ill try to get some footage of e riding at 2k rpms on the street. Hopefully that will give you some idea how it is.

with just procede STD corrected I put down 330/ 368.

With the exhaust I put down 344 rwhp 387 wtq STD corrected. Both on 91.

That was a glory run tho. I was averaging around 340 / 385. Peak hp doesnt really matter to me as much. I gained through the entire rpm band which was nice. In some places I got a 10 rwhp gain and like 15 wtq.

I still have to dyno with the filter. But I really think I made the same hp if only around 1 rwhp.

As for the sound. Ya it sounds really deep in person. on camera it doesnt sound too good, unless i get a better camera... lol

Sorry, but IMO that magnaflow sounds very farty--just like the magnaflow for the e46 M3.

Thanks I appreciate it.
At first I thought I had some huge exhaust leak, just to find out otherwise...

As for the filter. I havent got the chance to redyno it since my buddies have been preparing and are at sema right now.

But as for engine tone. You can hear the turbos spool louder (from inside the cabin)

Yes its a drop in replacment.

It was about $125. If you want to hear your turbos spool. Id get it, other wise with performance I wouldnt even know, since I havent redynoed yet. My guess is either 1-4 rwhp gain, if not the same.

wow. that GTO is running great. I ran one in my Jetta 60-140 and pulled away from him the way he pulled on you.

I was thinking about going magnaflow in the 335 just because I've had good luck with them. I've got a shop so it'd be tig welded and look a lot liek what you did. How satisfied are you with the setup you have right now?

Im happy with it. I need to go back in on the 10th tho because since this was just a "jig" They welded everything together.

So until I go back in and they get the bender online. We can probably bend everything in 1 piece.

Ya my friends gto is a beast. Running 440 rwhp and 410 wtq. Hes still missing intake mani and 1 other thing. We are thinking with the intake mani and the other piece he should be getting around 500 rwhp all motor. After that probably run n2o.

We did a few runs before he got the cam put in and we were a bit even. He pulled probably about 1/2 a CL on me.

Alot of people would be shocked on how well the 335i is up top.

Heheh, dont worry about it ado. I got a new one probably a week or 2 ago.

Heres some clips. If you guys are curious how 3 inch would sound with a reonator ill put more up, and ill try to get from inside the cabin so you can hear the drone.

But anyways here the new video.

yeah, there's a lot of potential on the 6.0l and an LS motor and nitrous is always a good combo.

I keep debating an NX kit on the 335, I'm just a bit scared of taking a paid off e92 that doesn't belong to me and putting nitrous on it. lol.

I've run nitrous in a few cars and really enjoyed it, once I finish building my spare 1.8t short block it's getting a 150 shot.
