In a perfect world, I would have the new 328i Sport wagon with a stick (they better still sell a RWD stick wagon here) and an e90 M3 and keep my 330i for shits.

I really like the look of the car I think it's a large improvement over the e90. Not to say that my e90 is ugly I still love the lci lines on that thing.
I drove it and I really like the drive, the four cylinder is great (doesn't rev as nice as my N52). Definitely feels a lot more premium just by the interior and feel at the wheel. But when I got back in my car I didn't miss the f30. Maybe it's because of my suspension mods and stuff, makes my car feel way more nimble but that is an unfair comparison. Plus the f30 tested was a luxury package so no sport suspension. That being said the handling still impressed me. In any case once my lease is up I will definitely go for the f30 with N20. Also, still waiting on the new 1er redesign for NA. Would have jumped on the hatch ages ago but we don't get them here do we now BMW? |

so i see they're keeping the square look of the M Sport. I'm curious to see how well the ///M3 fairs as well as the convertible. At minimum, if i were to upgrade, i'd have to go for convertible 335.

Can't afford it, holding on to my 328i
maybe there will be part-out opportunities from people trading-up for it |

Just sat in one at the dealership.Exterior Looks ok... Merc looks better. Interior is high quality but it's the worst design ever. Messy as hell and I feel like i am sitting in an alien spaceship with weird bulging lines everywhere. trying too hard to be different... It's really nasty inside. I hate it.

I just bought my e90 and I love it. I'm not giving it up for quite some time. Here's my assessment of the f30 from what I've seen and experienced to date.
Unlike most, I like the exterior and the new dimensions. I had a chance to sit in both back to back at a recent car show. I'm not too fond of the interior, but I like that the iDrive system comes standard. For me, that's a nice to have feature, but not required. The 3 way split rear seat is cool and it has pockets and storage where the e90 was lacking. Rear seat room is really nice, but not important to me. The e90 is sufficient in this area. The f30 is easier to get into. With my car I feel like getting in as a 2 step process....sit and adjust. With the f30 I can step in and get seated all in one motion. Site lines are pretty similar. I'm not happy with the supposed softening of the steering and suspension. That's why I bought an e90 and not a CTS last August. I love how the handling is crisp and the steering stiff and responsive. Actually, it was the steering that really sucked me into BMW. I haven't experienced the 4-cyl engine. I can overlook exhaust sound and 87 octane recommended sounds nice in a world of high gas prices. Audi gets away with a 2.0L turbo. My brother's GLI has a 2.0 Turbo that's fun to drive. One plus is that a turbo brings up more tuning options and opens the possibility of easier power upgrades. Forced induction engines can be more finicky though and if the power is similar, I'd go with N/A. On the milage side, I can get over 30 mpg on the highway easily with my e90. I got 34 mpg on a 55 mile trip recently. The 4 pot will do better, but how important is a 10% savings in fuel economy? Well, that's 10% plus the .25 cents per gallon when using 87 octane. Actually, that could add up. Overall the f30 presents a good package. I'll definitely consider one many years down the line when I get rid of my e90. no, but i think it looks pretty good... especially the interior and the mtech. stock body is allright, but i would only get it if it came with mtech. my next car will probably be a subaru tho.

After extensive comparisons, I cant really justify getting a F30. It is, in my opinion, and gadgets aside, an inferior model in a lot of points. It just seamed "cheaper" made to me.
Going from a 325 to a 335 would be great, dont get me wrong; but I would rather get a E90 then a F30 and still have a lot of money in my pockets. But since I dont want to change car just to change model within the same generation, I guess i'll just stick to my 325 for a while. (I say that but offer me a nice deal on a E90 M3 and watch me change my mind in a second lol.)
