It will take most of the day to go through the whole canal system. Then there is a seven-day AIS "blackout" before it reaches the CA coast. I just checked AIS again and it hasn't moved. I will check AIS when I get up in the morning and let you know where she is. |

Sue....you're awesome. Thanks for keeping us so well informed. A little delay may not be a bad thing, it looks like the weather at the canal isn't so hot this am, you can't see much on the webcams.

THAT is a very rainy day! The Gatun Locks are soaked and yes the camera is not very clear because of it. It is the tropics, so maybe it will clear before Grand Duke goes through.

Here's an updated map. She is still sitting there in the bay. The public AIS maps are delayed up to one hour, but usually about 30 minutes. So, she could be on her way, but that is not reflected on the map because of the delay.

Looks like she's moved on now. Sue......where did you find the other AIS locations. I can look at the page you linked, but can't figure out how to navigate on the AIS site to anything other than Europe. Do you have links to other parts of the canal, and the US west coast?

I am still not getting the Gatun Locks camera.
If you see her on the Centennial Bridge camera, it takes approximately 30 minutes for her to get from that camera to the Miraflores Locks camera. |
