Its is on the front drivers side of the engine just behind the fan shroud and the serpentine belt. It is towards the top.

BIG FYI on serpentine belt.
You must do a search on serpentine belt ASAP on this e90 post and N54tech post
You will see my curent issue and many others regarding serpentine belt problem.
The may be a new recall comming very soon regarding subframe assemble and belt failures on early 3 series.
You were correct.
I have had to replace my belt twice. It looks like I may have to have a subframe piece replaced as you have mentioned. I will be contacting BMWNA.

Hey Jzchen, how'd your oil cooler upgrade work out for you? Have you noticed an improvement with temps and performance? I'm currently looking into upgrading my wife's 07 335i the same way, i've been searching the net for info or details on the job but not finding much info.

I started a thread a long time ago, I think it's something like "Status Dinanicus". Not very detailed, but I think it's somewhere here. Someone pointed me to the OEM retrofit instructions somewhere on this site as well, which helped. It's a lot of work, but if I could do it, I'm sure others can, with time and patience. My father said I was ruining my "new" car. I ended up purchasing the Dinan oil cooler for cars without the OE cooler. If you ask, they will send a detailed instruction set, but it refers you to the OE manual for removal/replacement of the oil filter housing if I remember correctly. I actually have two other oil coolers lying around somewhere I bought from group buys, STETT and AR Design. I can't really say whether it works good or not. I don't drive the car much, and not that hard, and I also got the Performance Power Kit, the one with the extra radiator, soon after. I can say that the Dinan one does require you cut a piece out of the OEM brake vent tube.
