Ouch..sorry to see that. +1 on the pothole reporting, but at the same time, if that ratio of people to pothole thing is true, then it sucks. I play the same game as djsniggedy lol. Ridiculous out here..everywhere you go.

NJ is no different, hit a crater of a pothole back in december, sued the town, ended up getting compensation as I had to order 2 new rims..
Now waiting on them to be shipped and what not. Took a good month or two to play the waiting game with Edgewater's insurance company.

I havent seen as many potholes as last year, only seen like 2 on my daily work commute, but they were patched within the week. No snow and a mild winter helped a bit.

Two thoughts from all of this:
- That 800$ wheel tire/ insurance is actually worth it, if your okay with dealing with the RFT, my brother had all 4 rims / tires replaced recently lol
- Just got a quote for $400 to refinish and fix all my bends (2 of which are bent) for my oem 189s might go this route, although this is a great excuse for me to get new rims, but I think 189s are actually nice wheels

Arrow

I've had a bubbled tyre (run-flat) due to a pot hole on FDR.
Another bubbled tyre from some other pot hole - I don't remember where now.

Thankfully, no bent rims yet.

The GE tyre warranty that I bought from the BMW dealership while purchasing the car has been worth it though.

i have had nothing but runflats on my cars and not a single bend in almost 4 years of hitting the worst potholes Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan have to offer. this is why i don't put on aftermarkets, that and i will void my wheel and tire protection policy.

Best bet if you live here is to just play the dodging pothole game. Can't take your eyes off the road!
People think forged time are stronger BECAUSE THEY ARE ! LOL

That's really not necessarily the case though.... Are there forged rims that are strong? Sure. There are also plenty of "forged' rim manufacturers that make rims with fucking lips that are aluminum foil. HRE for example makes wheels that bend quite easily for $$$. Advan's cast rims are stronger than half the forged rims out there.

Assuming forged rims are stronger is just stupid. Forged ONLY means they wont crack. They will still bend. Then you go repair them and the wheel's integrity has already been compromised, newb.

yes they are. it's simple, but there are manufacturers whose wheels are stronger than the rest, its all in the build process.

i LOL'd! i'll agree and disagree as this is subjective. I disagree as i do think forged wheels are stronger in terms of impact resistance to most rep wheels that are not flow formed or spun forged. The casting methods of different companies do differ amongst each one and i will agree with you about the variance in manufacturing processes, look at ray's & Advan wheels- some of the best in the business IMHO! I will also agree that forged wheels will not crack, i'd imagine this is a huge positive for three piece wheels, when the outer barrel is dented, just replace the outer barrel and good to go! the wheels ive personally run that have been to hell and back without a scratch, HRE p40 monoblocks, Volk's RE30, OZ Aleg HLT's--all personal recommendations. in fact, iirc..my old g35 had the 19 inch wheel upgrade which were the forged wheels i believe made by rays and i hit tons of potholes accidently and they never deformed, i didnt learn that Ray's manufactured the wheels until it was sold. there was video of the process of ray's floating around somewhere that depicts their insane QC..ill see if i can find it.
