I just did mine. At first, I did too much and it was too high (but DAMMMMMN! visibility got SO much better). I knew I was going to blind some traffic, so I lowered it a bit and now its PERFECT. I love my xenons even more now.

thank you visor for posting a great question, and everyone else for helping us out!

I did about two 360degree turns at the very last attempt.
At first I did 6 full turns, and my low beam became highbeam. so I turned it back.

alot of you did 5 turns.. Isn't that too high for you guys?
When I drove with 6 turns, it was high enough to see the drivers(their faces were visible because of my xenon) of on-coming traffic on the road. and that means its too high.

Just did 2 complete turns counter-clockwise to raise the beam angle with a flathead screwdriver.

Now I can see so much better at night!
And not a moment too soon since having to drive home in the darker evenings because of the daylight savings time changeover on the weekend!

Like lux.sh posted, I'll have to pay attention to the faces of oncoming drivers and make sure I'm not blinding them.

Thanks also to kmkuk for providing the direction of turn.
I see that was your very first post! Very informative. Welcome to E90post!

would it help if you just raise the headlight on the right and leave the one on the left alone. since the left one is usually the one closest to on-coming traffic? or would that just be retarded....

^ thats a good though. Usually, US spec japanese vehicles I've driven, the right side is always aimed higher(reverse in japan). Which is how it should be, considering US road status.

With my E90 however, I noticed left side is actually aimed higher than the right. Did anyone else notice this? I was like.. "uhh.. is this right?"

anyway, its 1am here, Just came back from my friend's. God, it lights up the road so much better. previous aim was too low in my opinion. I am going to double check to see if it blinds anybody with couple of my friends(ask them to come from opposite way, stay in front of me, etc).

My e90's right was/ is aimed higher, which has always sort of pissed me off. I like to see both lights at the same distance. Now I have the ability to correct this myself, so I owe some thanks to the board for the help.

Wow.. what a difference driving to work this morning in the dark. I ended up at 3 full turns and it seems just right...My right light was higher than the left....Very nice adjustment!

Great post and I have to agree that they are set to low. I plan to adjust mine tonight and try them out. Seems like 2 turns counter clockwise is perfect.

I'd say slightly retarded, the headlights shoud be same level or the car with uneven light angles would look funny at night.

Wow, this is a great, great post. I've had the same concern since I got the car, I just figured there was no way around it, but I'm glad someone posted and we got a very easy solution to the problem. How was this not discussed earlier??

Hi btc, just replied to your PM.

Initially I had adjusted both sides 2 full turns counter-clockwise. However, on my drive home today I found that both sides were a bit too high, lighting up stop signs half a block away. Not wanting to annoy/blind oncoming drivers, now it's much better after I brought the left side down by a full turn, and the right side down by half turn.

So in conclusion, for my car, the left side has been brought up 1 full turn, and the right side up by 1 and a half turns. It's such an easy tweak that I'll probably be playing around with it over the next few days perfecting it.

Thanks to all for helping out!
