Eh, I don't really like survivor man too much. I just don't like that guy, whatever his name is.

But in terms of pure badass-ness, he couldn't touch Bear with a ten foot pole. Survivorman does his best to avoid life threatening situations. Bear purposefully puts himself into those situations just to show everyone what to do. |

MVW >>>> Survivorman
The Survivorman dude is fat and clumsy ... he also sings tunes on his harmonica which is annoying. Bear FTW. I liked how he caught the chocobo with his shoe lace. LOL! "that's my first chocobo I've caught." |

i like both shows, i actually watched all the survivorman episodes a long time ago and i dont think they make them anymore, he was pretty damn coo carryn' all the cameras and stuff with him.... thats the only thing i dont like about man vs. wild, who knows what goes on when the cameras off, hes prob sleeping in a nice warm tent eating twinkies......meh probably not, its a damn good show though its deffinatly a season pass on my tivo.

i still like survivorman better because he takes more risks than bear grylles. if bear gets into deep trouble, he has the whole crew to help him out while les stroud would probably have to find his own way out.

love the show...i've only seen a couple of episodes. i remember when he was in the desert, and to keep cold, he used his towel, peed on it and wrapped it around his head.

Gotta bring this thread back. Man vs Wild is quickly becoming my fav. show. How about the Aussi outback episode, with the 100% humidity and 100+ temps. No water, no problem. Yup, he drank his own urine. Nice! I also like the different ways he made fire. I missed some of the earlier episodes, and hope to catch re-runs.

im liking man vs wild more and more just because of the cool stunts that bear does. but if new episodes of survivorman comes out i'd still definitely watch them. les is more realistic or should i say what he does is what most of us can or would typically do. i cant climb down a steep mountain side or climb up 30' high in between two rock faces like bear. however, i think i can go around the obstacle like les would do. lol.

Hate to disagree, but saw 3 minutes of the show the other day (was on at work). My only comment to the guy watching, "What an out of work actor will do for work..."
I guess it beats waiting tables? Reminded me of MTV's Jackass, which was entertaining because it wasn't meant to be serious. I guess Johnny Knoxville and his group were taking risks for $$, too. |
