I purchased the evolution racewerks one. And love it it works great. Some cutting involved as it is 6" but it works awesome. Also didn't notice any less throttle response with the stock turbos with this ic either

Design of fin pack/core....Charge rows http://www.turboneticsinc.com/node/86 Frontal Surface Area: Something you dont find on other FMIC. Insteading of the air blowing off the sides, the shrouding here forces the air through the Spearco cores Install/trimming Direct replacement, near to no trimming, except on the 335is or if you have an Mtech front bumper Piping Sizes Significant larger connector tubing over the stock (Contact Dinan for specific size) End Tank Design 93% in total volume over stock, reducing the pressure drop by 0.7 psi |

Like everyone is saying an ic is an ic. They all do the same thing there are only two real factors when choosing an ic or any performance part for that matter is Price vs performance, I'm sure the dinian is great but could you get the same results or better with one that is a little less in price, brand name or higher price doesn't mean it's better, I would keep the dinian as a last resort. As for the others just gotta do some home work is all

If you haven't had a chance. Take a look at our intercooler.
Direct bolt on, no cutting, no trimming. Supports anything the factory turbocharger can throw at it. More charge rows than any of our competitors for a given amount of exposed surface area. No blockage to the radiator. http://www.extremeturbosystems.com Thanks! |

One things for sure then I will leave the dinan one as it seems to be certain that it is just an overpriced sperco. I'm not too fussed if I have to cut the ic in so then what I will do is probably look at getting the race evolution/helix/aa...which ever one I get my hands on first

+1 I love mine!
I didn't notice any loss in throttle response, it fit like a glove and it definitely keeps my IAT's down, even when doing back to back runs

ETS 5" - no cutting, easy install, very efficient design, great price. Can't go wrong.

The ER intercooler also offers an optional shrouding kit and a larger bar and plate core. It also has cast end tanks. The end tanks look much smoother then the dinan and its overall larger with a high efficiency core. Altogether it is still cheaper then the Dinan, although this doesnt say Dinan is a bad intercooler. I'm sure ER can hit it even harder with the stats this is just what I recall off the top of my head. Intercoolers are a give and take. There is nothing about the Dinan intercooler that has said to me "wow its worth the extra money", im sorry. I'm a vendor but I'm also a consumer and I stand behind what I say and I give my customers good advice with value in mind. Last edited by Jeff@TopGearSolutions; 04-11-2012 at 11:40 AM.. |

It seems that right now the most popular FMICs are ER, AMS, Helix and ETS. All are great and there are some differences between them but my two best sellers currently are ETS and ER.

You are correct that the ER end tanks of the FMIC are smoother, the Dinan end tanks from what saw on the inside was pretty much boxed as how it is shown on the outside. Very good points...They are missing info on volume and PSI reduction though. |
