Timeslips and Beltronics Vector FX1 pics from my runs at the track last night...
Notes -- 1) This was my first time racing at a dragstrip, and I'd like to give props to the other 335i driver who came with me; he gave me a lot of great tips! ![]() 2) Moroso track conditions were not very favorable and it was extremely hot and humid last night...84-86 degrees F / ~ 70% R.H...we were all sweating like pigs just from walking around outside. ![]() 3) I included another timeslip in here, b/c I thought it was interesting to note how my Reaction Time (R/T) got much, much better in later runs; look at my R/T on the right. ![]() ![]() 4) My fastest ET timeslip (right side, left timeslip) is a bit difficult to read, but it says 13.097 sec. @ 106.67mph (w/ a 60ft. time of 1.977 sec.). I've got to wonder what my time would've been if I had a similar R/T (0.071sec.) on the other run (which I did the 1/4mi. in 13.097sec.)...would I have broken into the high 12's??? ![]() ![]() btw -- yes, the other car's numbers on the left were that of the stock 335i w/ oem 18" runflats ; he was running 13.6xx - 13.8xx sec. @101.72-102.98mph. He ran very well, imho...he really didn't get any wheel/tire spin off the line, and on a couple runs, he got better 60' times than I did and his R/T's were much better than mine. ![]()

One more pic of my bro's Lotus Elise with Nitrous (silver) up against another Elise (without nitrous...he was running 15's); and again, my bro's best run in his Nitrous Lotus Elise was also 13.0xx (but of course, he claims to have messed up a couple shifts

![]() btw -- at the beginning of the Test & Tune, there were maybe 8-10 street sports class cars running including us, but toward the end of the evening, there had to have been more than 25 cars running; many Japanese ricers, a Honda S2000, Mustang GTs and Cobras, a GTO, VW GTIs, a Lexus IS300, Mitsu Evos, BMW E46s, etc.; most were running in the 14's and 15's. I didn't see the Cobras (in our car class) run, but I did see the GTO and one of the EVOs run...the GTO ran in the low 14's and the EVO (modded) ran 13.7xx. What I thought was funny was that many of these cars were so friggin loud, but so damn slow. ![]()

Alright, I need to dip into those high 12's lol
![]() My launch to being with is horrible. 17" run flats just don't cut it so I will get something better that will grip more. My shifting is top notch ![]() On certain runs I tried shifting just before 7 but what I'm noticing is when the RPM dips into 6 to 7 there is less power obviously because there is less PSI pushing into that RPM. Now do you guys think that it's better that I shift at 6 maybe 6.5 or should I shift at just before 7? Also, I've noticing on one or two of my runs when I shift from 3rd to 4th (Really Quick) It's almost as if I feel a small power cut for less then a second but I can definitely feel it. Any suggestions? ![]() Where is our Drag Racing friend that just ordered his PROCede. We need his help here hehe.

Hey Soni for sure. I am trying to figure out if I wanna go back out there tomorrow. They have some kind of event tomorrow so they will be open to all cars from 11:00AM till 6:00PM. I'm not sure how good it will be to run during the day as it's gonna be pretty hot. During the night it usually gets cooler.
You up for tomorrow if I can make it?

The time doesn't start until you pass the beam. As soon as you get the green light, you can sit there for 5 seconds, then launch, and your time will not be effected what so ever. Reaction time only matters in professional drag racing where the first car through the traps wins regardless of the time and speed. If your just racing for fun, take your time, build some boost, focus on the launch, not the R/T and you'll see better times. ![]() |

Also, the performance meters will often measure slower than the timing lights, because they start soon as you move, without paying attention to roll-out. Thats why you have to dial in the roll-out to be more accurate. |

That will depend on what kind of roll it is. If you're rolling from a low RPM you'll kill him as your twins spool at low RPM's and you're making much more Torque then him that low.

^ LS2 (6.0L) GTO are running flat 13.0 stock and some break into high 12s when temps are colder incl. good track condition. That GTO is either retard driver or the car was heat soaked. LS2 are known to have huge heat soak issue since IAT sensor is sitting next radiator hose. Very easy cure (IAT relocation kit) will make the GTO run right. Bolt-ons and tune and they running flat 12 or high 11s. Add cam and keep two hands on steering wheel.
Good times but can be improved with less than 1.9 (60') |

Yep, R/T means nothing toward the ET. They are all about bragging rights, and the ability to beat the other car to the end. BTW, if you are seeing the green light.......you're leaving too late!!!!
