We usually see dynos with the Dinan CAI done in cooler weather putting out similar results. For those with a 335iS a Dinan CAI would not be a good option as it requires removing the secondary radiator in which the Dinan CAI comes with a delete kit but at the same time you have to buy their OC to mitigate for the rad delete. The aFe solution allows you to retain your secondary rad and to upsize your OC for optimal thermal efficiency. |

Before & After
I forgot to get back to this thread to post the before and after dyno results. This will put those doubtful and misleading rumors thats been poping up to rest.
Here is the final results on my project. Stock CAI w/ K&N drop in filter vs aFe Stage 2 Elite CAI (Custom sealed) The stock CAI w/ K&N filter was done in 86° temps and the aFe Stage 2 Elite CAI was done in 93° temps |

Thanks for the great info and reviews as always; I've been learning a lot from your threads. Is the new afe intake (completely sealed) released? Would you consider that the best intake for the 335is?

Props for doin the homework.....people will want to question the price but the proof is in the numbers....and looks like a better HP per dollar upgrade than any of the cat-back systems on this platform....

how much do you think your method of sealing the intake box helped?
also, can you post the SAE corrected results. would provide a nicer comparison as it corrects for temperature. its always nice IMO to see both uncorrected and SAE numbers i am considering this for my 1M instead of a drop in filter....but am certainly on the fence to say the least

So I am getting the best off both worlds right now including having the lovely air sucking sound that people usually hear with the DCI When summer rolls back in the cover will be going back on |

This intake has no benefit over a DCI. The air is being heated up by the compressors either way, so minute changes in temperature pre-turbo arn't going to make any difference with an aftermarket intercooler. If anything, with the cover on those small snorkel pipes are an added restriction.
