I also have wastegate rattle, ive contacted anybody and everybody. The wastegate rattle was extended to 8 years or 82000 miles, but only in the US, NOT in Canada. My car is from the US and I was advised to take it to a dealership there and they will fix it. Hope this helps

WELL that is bull crap. these are the same cars. i guess canadians just "take" it while fellow americans get it replaced under extended warranty. i am really interested in filing a complaint, how can i do that?

I had wastegate rattle too. The most annoying sound from a gorgeous car. I spent an hour with a cold nine and the rattle is gone.
I was lucky I. That the rattle was coming from the rear turbo (the one you can see from the engine bay) I adjusted the actuator arm 5 turns and replaced the missing e-clip and voila, happy days! I have to say, before you go spending lots of money fixing this problem, do a little investigation of your own. All you'll need is a small handled 10mm wrench and a small handled 4 mm wrench for the adjustment. There is so much information on these boards about it. It may seem daunting, but it's much easier then it sounds and looks. |

I just did the actuator fix on my rear turbo, unfortunetly the rattle is coming from the front one. From what ive been reading you cannot do this fix with the front, it is not accessable.

The e-clip is on the wastegate pin the actuator arm connects to. I used a 5/32 e-clip from lowes, $1.72. I used two of them because the arm was pretty loose. There is still a bit of noise when the car is cold, but it sounds clean when warmed up. |

I felt the exact same way. Called Rob, looked online for OEM replacements. Then, decided to see what I could do before throwing money at he problem.
I got lucky, the rattle is gone, and I'm very happy, 2hrs of my time and under $5. You should come on July 17 th to the Mac in Whitby, we can have a listenand see if there's something simple that can be done. |
