DCI pull air from inside the engine bay. The air is "LOW PREASURE" air vs the stock or after market CAI pulls HIGH PREASURE air. A CAI will give better coefficient cooling, better for the turbos, less timing to be pulled. Here is a perfect example. On May 6th some of our locals went out to PBIR drag strip to attend a private event. Average temps were 90°. One member who was using DCI reported his IAT was 160° - 170° at the end of the 1/4 mile I was using a Dashdyno to record my IAT at the end of the 1/4 mile run like he was and it was 132° - 138° . I was using the aFe Stage 2 Sealed Intake (CAI) Here is the orginal post: Quote:

Did you have your Dinan FMIC during those runs?

I would imagine the substantial difference between the IAT's above are due to the inefficiencies of the stock FMIC vs. the much better Dinan FMIC, even though there can be differences in IAT's in CAI vs. DCI.
170 degree's is crazy, glad I have some assistance in dropping my IAT's during WOT runs.

Was thinking oil temp What are ok oil temps to be running? I manage a constant 240 or so and up to 260 with quite a few WOT runs Don't know if that has any significance or relation to IATs, just hoping I'm not running to hot. Used to have and aFe stage 2 with heat shield, but it just didn't seem logical to me that my car was just sucking up all this hot air from the engine bay. People told me the car needs to breathe more, but I feel like it's just counterproductive when the car is more stressed by the heat. Will probably do a STETT or Mr. 5 in the future, but for now does a drop in make a notable positive difference over stock, to help the car breathe?

when boosting higher than stock, yes, it can help. With me, it helped with faster spool times and lower wastegate adaptation value's which allowed for the turbo's to reach target boost and to hold target boost easier.
