I'd also throw Metropole Suites and the Mondrian Hotel into the mix. Stayed at both, can't complain. The view from the Mondrian overlooking the Intercoastal/Star Island/etc was pretty sick. The Metropole Suites was damn cheap for a 2/2 and within walking distance to Amnesia/Nikki Beach and a 5min cab ride to Mansion and a little under 10mins to LIV. Quite easily one of the best places to stay if you don't need the flashy resort experience.

As far as clubs go... since you're from out of town, the easiest way to get into anything is going to buy presale tickets at http://www.wantickets.com. Even then it's not a "sure thing" as South Beach (or "the beach") is relatively superficial. The only sure fire way to get in anywhere is to buy a bottle or know someone.

As for Nikki Beach, its worth checking out when you can get in for free and plan on staying a few hours (i.e. before midnight on a Sunday), otherwise.. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Nothing beats a nice dark room with pounding bass for house music. Nikki Beach has noise limitations due to being so close to adjacent condos.

HanSolo, how many girls/guys in your group? Send me a PM when you get into town.
