1-800 number now says I'm "in transit".....anyone else getting the same message...and if so, does this mean to the VPC or to the dealership? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Geez, I don't know...so the message said "In transit" when you were on the Ocean, and then "awaiting a shipping vessel" when it docked, and now it's saying "in transit" again? Gosh I don't know....my CA told me they expect to see my car next week so I wouldn't assume it'd be on it's way to the dealership until Monday which means maybe your message means "in transit" to the VPC...but some posts have said that their cars have made it through the VPC in record time.....?? Either way at least your recording is changing which means progress is being made!! That's a positive!!

mine still says at port waiting.... according to the owner's circle "En route" includes the time it takes to get to the VPC, so I would assume the 1-800 number is the same, and that "in transit" means it's on it's way to the VPC.

Thanks. I left a message with my CA asking for some more info...but he has been historically anything but helpful when it comes to tracking my vehicle. Early on in the tracking process he told me he coudn't get any additional information other than what is on the Owner's Circle website. Obviously, this is contrary to everything I've read here on this website...so I don't know if he is clueless or just lazy and doesn't want to take the time to find out an answer for me. I hate being obsessive over the tracking process, but I'm trying to coordinate the sale of my current vehicle, and having a clearer timeline would certainly be helpful. I'll just be happy when the darn thing just finally gets here.

Oh gosh! I feel so bad for you - I'd go crazy if my CA wasn't getting back to me! I know that I've called the 800# and talked to customer service at BMWNA much more than I've talked to my CA, but he still was able to tell me what ship, when it would arrive at port, tentatively when it would arrive at the VPC, and when the dealership would see it. Well, hopefully by checking this thread you'll be able to gauge your delivery more clearly.

Well...my CA emailed me back and said that "Your BMW was due at the VPC on 7.11. We should be tentatively planning delivery for late next week." Hopefully, he is correct. I'm shocked that he actually provided me some details that may prove to be informative for once!!!!! Looks like we are finally getting somewhere!

New update from my CA. He said this on Saturday: " Your vehicle is estimated to be at the distribution center today and the work order to inspect the car is printed so as soon as they look at it then it will get on a truck to us." He also said he'd check again on Monday and let me know.
The 800# is still showing "in transit" for me, so I'm assuming that's out of date. Anyone heard anything else? I'm still not sure when to expect it up here... |

Our OC says at the VPC. The phone says awaiting shipping vessel. I have heard from others that it says awaiting shipping vessel for all transport moves. So it says that before you leave Germany, before you leave the US port for the VPC and before you leave the VPC for home.
Not everyone gets the message every time, but I think you can get it up to 3 times. Since the web says at VOC, I would think ours will get here this week sometime.

The OC says "at the vehicle preparation center" for me...and the 1-800 No. says "in transit". When I checked yesterday, the OC said the same thing, but the 1-800 No. said "awaiting a shipping vessel." Hopefully, that means I'm now on my way to the dealership. I'll keep you updated as I hear more.

Got an email from my CA - my car showed up this morning at the VPC so he's hoping that we'll see it up here by the end of the week. I'm assuming those of you who'd already seen the VPC show up on the OC are ahead of me.

The OC still says I'm "at the vehicle preparation center" and the 1-800 number still says I'm "in transit". I haven't heard anything from my CA. Any updates from anyone else?

800# is still saying "In transit" - for some reason it's not reflecting that the car made it to the VPC either...I sure hope that means "in transit" to the dealership and not that it still has to cycle through "at the vpc" and then "awaiting a shipping vessel" and then "in transit" again, but who knows.
Like I said before, if my CA said I'd take delivery next Tuesday definitively, it be much easier than all of this uncertainty. |

Just talked to my CA, he doesn't know exactly where it is (or doesn't know how to find out), but does know it hit the port a few days ago (thank you for that information!) He's pretty sure it's on it's way to the Performance center for my delivery there and should have plenty of time to get everything done.

Cedarstreet -
You went through SC like everyone else correct? I imagine that PA is not too much closer to SC than we are so hopefully my wife's car is close to the dealer now. He called yesterday to tell me my 335i from my European Delivery arrived yesterday and would be ready today. If my wife's x3 makes it, we may do a double pick-up on Friday when I get back in town. Congrats on your pending delivery!

I'm pretty sure mine is at the Performance Delivery location now, getting the black line and rear spoiler installed there. now just have to wait until 6/26 to pick it up!
The OC site says I'm in the Prep center :-) and that's always a few days off. Last time I checked the 1800 still says in transit. |

Thanks guys!
bmrfam - Yes, I went through SC so you guys are probably pretty close to seeing yours too! stevger - the 800 # still says "in transit" for me too and the OC says "at the prep center". In retrospect I'd say the OC was pretty much worthless and the 800 number was valuable up until she arrived in the US. (because I'm so expereinced and seasoned now. ;-) |
