To all who say that water will come into your car if you cut this (creating mold), please read the above quote over and over again. If you are pouring water into the inside of your door, please visit the nearest kia and trade in.

It's a quick and easy fix.

Dude in Florida we have wet and humid hot days. This will make inside windows sweet. Funny you spend the money on your BMW just to hack it up. I ordered the replacement seals from dealer and when they get will install moleskin on them and just have BMW dealer put them on. I have no problem spending a couple bills to do it right.

Just as an update, I recieved the tint protector package today.

I took my time in installing it. It was relatively easy. The instructions are good with a one exception. The first step in the instructions is to lower your window. I didn't do that for fear of scratches.

I was able to pop out the seal with the windows up after removing the wood trim, outer handle cover, and screws. For those unfamiliar, use a plastic interior tool and not a screw driver. It's cheap and a worthwhile investment.

The tint protector material is wider than needed and I trimmed off 1/3 of the width. I also sanded the surface lightly and cleaned it with alcohol. There was more than enough length for all 4 windows. It uses an acrylic adhesive. I'll let it sit overnight and see how it performs in the morning. I have a fair amount left over if I need it for anything else.

As for trimming the material, I don't see it causing water intrusion. It's not hard plastic, but rubbery. It may help to hold the seal in place against the metal clips. There is some give to it, so I don't think the added thickness of the moleskin will cause a problem either. If the moleskin starts to cause problem, I'll trim the seal off.

Anyway, all told it took me one hour and fifteen minutes taking my time. That included gathering tools and putting everything away. If I was just trimming the seal, it would've taken far less.
