Very nice ST kit. Great job...

I have searched but I could not find the answer...will this single turbo kit void my BMW warranty?

I'll try to drop in a few times over the weekend to answer any questions. But most questions should be answered in the FAQ section. If not, let me know

awesome, it is here! a few questions.

will new maps be released with this set up over time, as we've seen all along with the stock turbos etc? is the plan to slowly press the envelope as to how much boost is 'safe' for us to run these larger turbos at in reference to stock internals, through R&D of your own vehicle? what is the high end of what you might picture the n54 'eventually' producing with the 62mm turbo... just a general estimate. thanks for all youve done with this platform.

Thanks! We will continue to release map/firmware updates for the Procede over time. At this point in the game, there is no reason to push the system very hard. But over time, we will be able to make and more power. I'll be testing the next update in our shop car starting next week. Should ultimately be good for 700whp by my calculations. That's probably the upper end of what the 62mm can do comfortably. No sense in pushing any component to the bleeding edge as that is where things start to get tricky/unstable.

But for now, giving 6MT users 635-650whp (and 6AT users 560-580whp) seems likes a nice first step. The engine seems more comfortable doing that than it is making 100+whp less with a set of upgraded twins.

We plan on collecting a few orders orders first before starting the production run. Depending on the number of orders, it could take 6-8 weeks before we start shipping. Each kit will be made to order. It's far too labor and hardware intensive to keep them on the shelf at this time. Priorty will go to in-house installs but we are eager to start shipping and have people do this at home or at their local shop.

In the end, it just made more sense to make it a Procede add-on since it plugs into the Procede harness and doesn't require any fabrication. We tried to keep things as easy to follow as possible which, as you can imagine, is possible given the nature of this conversion and the wide range of modifications people currently have.

Shiv, how much power do you estimate the 58mm kit would make at 17-18psi in a 6MT, with no meth? -- on 94 octane that we get in TX.

I'm asking in terms of a track day/road race type application. I think this kit would make dramatically less engine heat for that type of driving, so I'm interested.

Thanks

In terms of heat the turbos aren't much different. Without meth it all depends on the density of your IC core.

In terms of track/road race days it shouldn't be too bad since you're constantly moving.. so w/ a decent intercooler in that situation you'll be fine

I currently have JB4, I'm guessing I will need to change to PROceed? Also, that base price is that for the 58 or 62 turbo? And will a map be included in the PROceed?

For IATs, I'd still look into at least a 49/51 meth/water mix in a trunk mount 2.5gal container, esp for road course use in hot climates. High IATs grenade turbo motors.

As soon as I can, I'm getting the small single for track use. I don't like the idea of cooking everything under the sun with the small twins at high RPM. They're awesome at 1500RPM around town, but this car will SHINE on track with Ohlins, PFCs, and a Vishnu/FFTEC single!!!

Sadly, that is one combo we have not yet tested. So far, every 6MT user has gone with a 62mm turbo. If I had to guess, the 58mm should be capable of making over 500whp on 94oct with no meth.

For a track day/road race type application, I would say that meth is very important. It will keep cylinder temps very low and timing very stable. You may even find yourself wanting to drop the boost even more since that is a lot of power to deal with on a road course without sticky tires and a very well sorted suspension. I find that it's only on the street, where the driving style is more point-and-shoot, that more power is always better

Talking about engine heat here not IAT's; the big turbo will do the same compression work with far less backpressure, thus holding much less heat in the engine.

But that said, the big turbo will compress more efficiently as well resulting in less load on the intercooler as well.

Labor for the turbo kit install itself is $1400. Intalling the procede and meth kit is extra (that is, if you don't already have it installed) but not very much.

Yes, you will need to change to the Procede. The price is the same for the 58 and 62mm turbo options as shown on the website here: http://www.procedetuning.com/BMW/n54...-15/index.html

And yes, the Procede will be loaded with the appropriate single turbo map/firmware.
