OC upgrade =

With ER "Sport" OC, have yet to see more than 230 oil temp, running hard in 100-degree Central TX heat. Before OC upgrade, it would regularly hit 250+.

+10000

And your car loses power because your ECU is lowering everything when you are almost hitting the temp ceiling.
Again DCI impact is low.

And what is a slugger? :-) Does not sound positive.. lol....

Exactly, besides that since how long are you driving without a tune? Might also have some adaption issues.

I'm in quebec canada and weve been having heat here too (100-105) and my 335xi never went above 225-230 for oil tenp on highway and 245-250 in traffic jam. I do have the oil cooler but the car has been driven harder than ever lately due to the fact i received my cobb. Never got close to limping

Ran my 1M hard last weekend at VIR.

Helix intercooler, hybrid intake and a couple other goodies and never went into iimp home despite 104 ambient temps.

FWIW, my peak oil temps were 285 and water temps were 230. Lost 3-4 mph at end of straight, but otherwise ran fine.

Cobb or Procede?

I just flushed out to 30% Motul Inugel/65% distilled/5% MoCool. We'll see what happens. Oil temps are already 10F cooler even though it's an honest 100F air temp today.

Definitely we all need an oil cooler and radiator upgrade to run a tuned N54 hard on track.

Anyone know why there are two different oil temp gauges out there? I have a 2007 335 and my center line is 250 F, I see yours is 210.

I've wondered the same. Mine is 210F on center. My build is 07/2006 sport/18" wheels/with factory oil cooler. Recently I was in another 4-door 335i with oil cooler and 18" wheels, but its oil gauge was 250F on center. I think it was a later build.

Wait OP has no tune...I didn't even catch that. That's like the fist thing you need to buy especially if you already have some bolt ons.

So your running stock psi and trying to push all the other supporting mods....I think that's your problem. I'm not a car wiz but I would say get a tune and see if that works...and oil cooler.

Yes BMW changed the gauge, because people were freaking out when the needle was towards the max. So they simply set 250 as the canter value

Yep. It's been over 100 degrees for the last few days here in south east Michigan. My 09 was down on power while commuting to work, every day of this heat wave. I just noticed the increase in power driving today, with temps in the mid 80s. I'd slap a larger inter cooler on there in a second, if I could keep my warranty and maintenance. IATs shoot up with these high ambient temps.

Temp

I live in Vegas and it gets to 115 and I do not get over 230 240. I have an oil cooler though. But higher if I am stuck in traffic with AC cranking away.
