If you're committed to an engine swap, scrap the N54 & put a bomb in

S65 V8 from the M3 or the S62 V8 from the M5

+1 if your going to spend that kind of money and headache put a real engine in it. NRE would really make that thing fun.

Talk to the dude in Egypt that has done this into an E90 (316i I believe?).

It can be done. Swap it, code it, drive. Personally, 335i insurance is killer due to the turbozzzzz... So I'm guessing I'll do the swap on my 330i many years from now as I have no intention of getting rid of it. I mean, I already have the car and can do OEM+ upgrades as things fail.

Dude, for the price of turning your beloved 325 into a 335, you would have a FBO 335 already if you'd trade it in.....(a used 335, not a new one).

The N54 is great, so trade for a 335 if you want it. Otherwise, drop in a 2JZ, M5 V10, M3 V8, or maybe somehow an LS7? That would be sweet.

Why not have a custom turbo or supercharger kit for 1/3 the price of all this?

will the engine hold the boost? the 335i engine is already made for turbo and will be more safe i think, right?

do you know what else i need for the swap beside the engine, trans and ecu?

If you REALLY loved your 325, you wouldn't want to rip its heart out and put another one in.

If you want to turn your 325i to a 335i it would probably be cheaper and much less hassle to just sell your car and buy a 335i then to do the engine and supporting hardware swap. If you want to really stick with your car and not pull it's heart out like someone stated then build the current engine and either turbocharge or supercharge it to get the desired performance level you want.

Honestly either trade up for a 335i or do something bad ass and more unique like dropping a S85B50 into that thing!
