little update on my issue, new tyres helped a lot now. dithcing RFT makes ride quality a lot better, it's still quite hard ride but at least on the level I would suspect in the car with 3.0l engine.

When changing tyres friend of mine noticed one of the track rods could be gone.

I agree there is no way to diagnose the issue on, as per recommendation car is booked for Saturday to do computer wheel alignment, but forum is good to start looking for issues somewhere.

Car is still wandering a bit at speeds 120+ and I think this is due to track rod, there is slight play in the steering wheel when travelling on motorway, when I move steering car doest'n turn, it's like 2 cm play so didn't notice it first but now it all comes to me.

Hi Pal I have the exact same problem. I've been trying desperately for 6 months. Mine is 2010 335d coupe under warranty done 20000 miles. The dealers keep telling me there's nothing the matter but irufused to believe it. I've driven others and there fine. I'd love to know how you got on. Thanks Will.

By the way mine has the added bonus of pulling left especially after a bump in the road. I've had the geometry done at 6 places 3 of which where BMW dealers.

My 2007 325i can be a bit jumpy over pot holes and change direction sometimes. I thought this was just a trait of the run flat tyres. Im soon going to change to non run flats.

I'm willing to be that if you changed tyres, checked pressures, replaced Front control arm bushes, replaced rear trailing arm bushes and got a complete geometry check ypur problems would completely disappear.

Agreed. Most of the symptoms above sound too extreme for a tyre change to sort out. My car's ride and handling is a joy after my A4 S Line and the 156GTA before that (and both had had all the bushes changed and FSD's fitted). And it was better than those car's even before I ditched the 18's with RFT and went to 17's with good quality normal tyres.

Suspension bushes and dampers deteriorate over time, even at 3 years of typical mileage a change will yield benefits to a sensitive driver. Throw in higher mileages and speed bumps and potholes, and things can go downhill faster.

And of course in these extreme cases a suspension arm, ARB, trackrod, bush, damper, or similar may have failed/bent or whatever, and/or the alignment may be massively out. I'd bet something along those lines is behind all such cases. Swapping tyres is not going to do much.
