Window will go halfway down if you unlock and hold unlock, it's comfort access so you don't get beheaded trying to get in when there is little clearance.

In terms of the seatbelt sensors, it will only offer the belt if someone (or something - my shopping usually) is sat in the seat

I know it does that, but it's definitely playing up going down half way sometimes when I'm just opening the door, instead of the usual small gap.

And I see the seat belt coming out when I leave key in (engine off) when at petrol station. Is there a ghost in my car?

I don't have a code reader for the engine fault message

Read the fault codes!

could be a huge number of things. What is the mileage?

No-one has mentionned carbon build up on the intake valves yet..

Waterpumps are prone to failure.

Thanks for the additional info!

Well I was hoping to go see/collect the car on Saturday but they've just phoned me to say that they had to replace the instrument cluster(?!?!) so going to have to wait till the middle of next week now, grr!

Nope - if you press the unlock button twice, the window will go halfway down when you open the door, then go fully up when you close it again. If you hold the unlock button the windows just wind down until you let go of the button

No it's not. Comfort access is the ability to walk up to the car, get in and start it with the key in your pocket.

Wow really?! Didn't know about the twice unlock thing. Must try tomorrow! Very intrigued.

I have no way of reading the fault code myself?

That seat belt thing is really annoying and weird. Thought it would only offer if I was sat in the car.

And just noticed today another thing. Just started driving off before I had the chance to grab it and it retracted. Surely it knows since the car is being driven and know not to put it back since I haven't clipped it in yet - thus not properly seated with the seat belt. :P

that's because you're meant to put your seatbelt on as soon as you get in the car and start the engine. And definitely before you drive off!

I'm well down the road before the belt goes on, usually after i've finished on the phone and put it away, finished eating, had my coffee, lit a ciggy and sorted the tunes.

Who are BMW to get stroppy and take the belt away too soon?
