you think they'll win @ 47-49 games (which is the 8th seed). i think they'll go 2 games under .500. |

toilet paper has even called Gasol soft, gonna be awesome watching Ibaka and Perkins make him a non factor, again.
Nash is nowhere NEAR the player he was back 2 or 3 years ago - i'll be laughing when Westbrook is running circles around him. Kobe is breaking down and just doesn't give a shit anymore - gonna be awesome to watch Durant shut him down, again. Artest will continue to shoot 30% from behind the 3pt line while shooting with 15 seconds left on the clock - gonna be awesome to watch him single handedly mismanage the clock on critical possessions, again. Dwight will be a force, but with the rest of his team being outclasses on both ends of the floor, i doubt anyone has them beating OKC..... |

Age and injuries are a definite concern for the Lakers.
I think if Nash doesn't get injured, they have a chance. He will be the catalyst for his team and Howard will be a defensive monster for the Lakers if he returns to form. I still don't think they're the team to beat as OKC has superior speed. They keep getting better. The NBA has turned into a speed over power game. If the Lakers core were 25-30 they would be amazing. The pieces fit. Only injuries and age are a concern. |

Stern is a fool. By now, Lakers would have has Chris Paul and Dwight Howard instead of worrying if Howard will re-sign with the Lakers next summer. Both of them will be 27 this year and would have had an awesome 5 year run, at least.

I keep reading OKC OKC OKC
People their offensive isn't going to win the championship. The age old saying that offense wins games and defense wins championships is not a myth. |

The problem I see with the new look Lakers is defending the perimeter. Nash is a defensive liability, and Kobe is an old 34 who tends to take a lot of breaks on defense. Yes, having Dwight cover the paint when Nash and Kobe get taken off the dribble constantly is a major asset, but teams will learn to exploit that too. Regardless, I am excited to see what this team can do.
The other issue I have is the LA bench. One person you cannot sleep on is Al Harrington, as he is a great offensive spark as a 6th man. Duhon and Earl Clark may be able to provide some stable minutes, but besides that, the Lakers really need to address their bench. One final point I'd like to share is the lack of coverage on Dwight's rehabbing back. Despite hearing everything else the past few months regarding his trade demands, we haven't heard much about his injury. As a die hard Knicks fan, I know all about back injuries, a la Amare. It took almost a year for him to recover, and at this point, I still do not think he truly has. Nonetheless, I am excited to see the Lakers battle. |

hopefully Dwight tosses some elbows with bad intentions at Gasol's soft chest.....
sucks that Bynum went to Philly - we would have loved him hear in Houston. he's the most gifted Center in the league, but he was a complete nutjob with the maturity level of a 4th grader.... |

i have the Lakers as the #3 seed in the West.
#1 OKC #2 Spurs (never count those guys out) #3 Lakers 4 5 6 7 8 beware if the Lakers pull a 4, 5 or 6th seed in the first Round. Lakers would HATE to face the Clippers in Round 1.... |

so you think the first 2 spots are going to be Lakers or OKC ?? not a bad guess, but i still think the best coach on the nation is Pop. he'll win 58 or 59 games and get the #1 seed. |
