I bet if I drove the C63 it would be awesome, however I have to like the look of it to want to buy. The new shape C Class is quite angular and harsh in my view.

If I could afford to blow as much money as you appear to on cars I'd be buying fewer but higher up the market, Astons, Bentleys etc. or at the very least M5/M6. That said, I do love the C63, it is just a lot of money for a C class. I've always felt that about the AMG models of C and CLS.

yes your right, but if your in the market for a 80+k car then buying a 40k is like buying half a car?!!

if you know what i mean....

oh i dont know, what i mean is if you were in a position to buy a car of that price you might (not always ) actually buy a car of that price or similar why settle for a car much, much cheaper

Anyone else think this has more than a passing resemblance to the 3 series coupe ? Draw a line at the front door hinge and cover the front and if I didn't know otherwise I'd assume BMW.

Only my opinion, as I've not seen one in the flesh yet, but's the front end is not very "smooth" is it ? All angles and edges, very transformer. Engine must be awsome tho

SJ

p.s. is this the same Steve who ran a 350z back in the day?

You can buy a 2nd hand M5 for less than 40k now and an M6 for about 50k and a bentley gt for abot 60k i could if i wanted but i dont. they are fast cars (ive driven all three) but for me the M cars dont have enough torque, and i love torque, granted the gt does but its just dead to drive, anyone who has driven one will agree, also ive got to be honest id feel bit of a twat driving around in a bentley GT, im 33 for fucks sake

The AMG 63 engine has it all massive amounts of torque from 2000rpm to over 7500rpm, at least 457bhp in c class guise ( a simple remap puts is at 507 bhp) On you tube there is a video of an m5 racing an e63. the m5 cant live with it......so in a c class WOW. merc say itll do 0-62 mph in 4.5secs so 4.2 to sixty thats faster than any aston or bentley FACT so remapped to 507 probbably 4.0 dead. I love the look of the car, the sound of the engine is AWESOME its the nicest v8 grumble ive heard, its just the perfect car....for me anyway.

Problem is Steve Mercs have always had a problem getting all that power down Nice choice tho'

Carlos as has been said,at your age money, cars, women, beer etc are all that means anything......when you get a little older other priorities have to take president.I could have had the Aston, still might one day but decided 2 buy 2 new work Vans for the lads as they earn my living for me.One day you will learn that not everything evolves around motors.

Lesson over as i don't know why i am explaining myself to Carlos

My pals brotherinlaw works at McClaren, the gossip is it'll be THE performance benchmark in its class, ie brillinat the drive, lsd equipped, blip on down change, fasteer than its competitors etc etc etc M3 the king is dead C63 long live the king te he.

I would never buy new vans for my business, buy second hand and have them wrapped, looks new saves loadsa cash.

To be fair AMG have had a lot of time to come up with the goods,so i'm exspecting it to be good Re vans Steve, you know how it goes keep the monkeys happy with something that you can right off at the right time and for next 2 years keep reminding them that i got them a nice new shiny van when they wanted one so "how can you exspect a pay RISE"
