What about the best of both worlds . Its shouldnt take too many knocks for people to realize the benifits of a good intercooler kit, we obviously track this car with the product on it for a reason, to see for ourselfs how well it preforms.

We pretty much offer the same thing, but if you saw the intercooler in half, drop it from 3 stories, use it as a flotation device, we may have some issues with replacing it .

depends on the design and construction, a well engineered small one could outperform a poorly designed big one

there are too many factors to say without doubt that bigger ones are more efficient, (I'm not saying smaller ones are more efficient)

better designed ones are the best, size is just one parameter of a design

i know what you mean, that's the case with everything tho...engineering is key...i can buy a huge ass ebay intercooler and get custom piping to graft to the charge pipes, doesn't mean it'll help much..

Like what though? The intercoolers for the VW 2.0Ts did hardly anything better than the stock IC.
I just don't see how this will make more power. If it is bigger then yes, it will be a little cooler but the boost will go down a bit and the quesiton is still--is it worth it?

I'm looking forward to being pursuaded.

Often time the bigger intercooler will lead to more turbo lag...

The stock intercooler has a 1.1 PSI drop at 5k, which is tremendous. We have noticed from our intercooler that we had an increase in boost. The cooler is a better design and is bigger the stock, it is also more effecient. It is not nearly as deep which saves you alot of cooling effeicency (for every 3 inches you loose about 3/4 of the cooling leaving you with very little effiecency from the very deep stock design). With thoose things on mind we developed the intercooler to meet the needs of greater then stock boost and performance, we noticed on the track when the engine tep even got to 270 degrees we still had performance and didnt loose the battle against heat soak, which was one of the most impressive things I have seen yet!!!

Thats one thing we took to heart. I live in texas and i track my car in texas, which deffinatly meets the basic reasons to NEED a better intercooler, anyone running any piggy back or even a turbo tuner should do this mod, because the stock one barely cuts it on stock boost you are depriving the car of its full potential and possibly engine life. If you are stock I personally would NOT advise this as a first mod, but any controller on the boost and you should JUMP right on it.

Schneid, it's obvious that a larger IC will show better results with higher boosts, where it feels much better. So maybe it would be better to do some stock before/after dyno, but then use some piggy to squeez as much boosts from those lil turbus as possible to make the IC shine. What about this idea?
