The closed loop fuelling using an O2 sensor is not operating from a cold start anyhow. O2 sensors need to heat up to opwrate nd it takes a few seconds at least. On cold its running a fixed mixture enrichment cycle for a few seconds anyhow. Common cause of intermittent starting is a weeping injector dropping fuel into a cylinder overnight as pressure stays in the rails of the DI engine. I had this a couple of times and it was not 'regular' so guess sometimes the things dont drip
