And I got the SE on Tuesday. Haven't had a chance to check out the special features yet. I haven't switched to HD or Blu-Ray yet, still waiting to see who wins the war...looks like Blu-Ray has all the advantages, but you never know...

It's one of the best you can buy, period. There's just the odd unit with a minor panel flaw and even then, not everyone is bothered or even notices it.

I got it on Blu-Ray it looks great. PS3 can do 1080i. Don't worry about it.

It's only better if you have a HD TV capable of 1080p.

I've decided to go with a 720p/1080i TV. It seems to be the right way to go right now since most channels only pump out 720p max. And it seems like if you go 1080p and you are watching standard TV it looks like crap.

Give it time....regardless, most of what I watch is available in HD. And yes, get a Samsung 1080p....I've loved every minute

OK cool - thanks for responding. My current set is an Sony KV36XBR450. It was close to state of the art when I got it, but times have changed. It runs 1080i, but balks at 720p or 1080p - at least based on the xbox output.

I held off early plasma's and LCD due to price issues and the whole HD mess. My first experience was HD cable in 2003 - and it basically sucked. Things are much better now I'm sure.

That said - I recently saw a Blu-ray setup in a Sony store. So much better than the crap displays in BestBuy. It was awesome - and I've been day dreaming about HD ever since. I'll be upgrading before the year is out...:rocks:

I'll probably get the PS3 - I'll want one anyway when GT5 comes out and while the xbox HD DVD is nice, I don't like the fact that it's an external box with wires/mess etc.

I'd give it time, but the 1080 plasmas cost too much. I'm getting a Pioneer 50" 720p set for less than 2000.
