Remember the meth is mixed 50/50 with water, so the flamability is much reduced, you need a very hot heat source (i.e. hot turbos) to ignite it at that mix.
According to Terry at BMS the fires in the US were all at much higher concentrations and were a result of leaks where the meth line crossed the engine and the meth had soaked into the foam under the enginer cover and ignited. Only the WW kit requires the meth line to cross over the hot engine from the WW hose to the intake/pump side. A boot mount would bring the meth line in on the cold side of the engine (UK passenger side) and there it stays. Strong winter screen wash has more methanol in it than 50/50, and people put bottles of that (unsecured, thin plastic) in the boot! Last edited by doughboy; 10-22-2012 at 06:02 AM.. |

forgive my ignorance...
Could you not leave the pump in the engine bay where the WW pump fits and just place the tank in the boot? |

How is this coming along? Any progress bud?
What about my idea of leaving the pump in then engine bay and solely placing the tank in the boot? |

Anyway, it is generally better to keep the feed to the pump shorter to avoid problems with the pump not self priming properly with long line runs. Re progress - None. Have wife/kids/house/work stuff to do 99.9% of the time, might get look at before Christmas if i'm lucky! Last edited by doughboy; 10-31-2012 at 08:45 AM.. |

Pumping meth and pushing 19psi in the snow would be fun...
I hope to get mine back on track tomorrow!

Thought I'd responded, must have not sent properly!
E85 isn't widely sold in the UK anymore.

Tap the pipe. Or weld in a bung.
BUT Don't spray meth when using a blow off valve! You need to install a recirculating piece to the valve.

Boost leak kit?
I'm waiting on some silicon hoses from eBay to complete the kit. But I seem to have solved my boost leak by adding a shim into each forge diverter valve. I also tightened all the fmic connections etc. So the leak kit will sit on the shelf until next time - unless you fancy a trip over to give it a try?? Just clutch slip to deal with now!! Argh!!!

Sorry Op - slightly off topic!!
4m should be fine Replace as much of the perished hose as you can, not just the two across the engine. The ones running from the boost solenoids to the turbos may also be bad. Front turbo is accessible, rear isn't. Remember the ones going from the crankcase to the diverter valves..
