Hard break-in. Oil change at 300 miles. Oil is full after 8.5 months and hard Proceded 4000 miles (15mpg fuel consumption average from new). I'm gonna get oil changed again this month.

Sheesh, even burning a quart every 3Kmiles is nothing to worry about. You wanna see oil consumption, ask an M5 or M6 owner how often he has to put oil in. It's a reciprocating internal combustion engine, it's gonna use oil, PERIOD.

noticed this past weekend that sensor was reading low, so I added 2 qts!!!
what gives, two at one time? I have 11500 miles and before this week not one qt was needed. I just recently got JB2H installed but that's all. I will keep on monitoring for more consumption but I hope this is not going to start as an issue. thoughts? |

On any turbo car you are going to get some oil burning - especially during break in. I am at around 4500 miles and level on the gauge is one mark below full - not extraordinary. Dealer will top off any oil lost anyway - might as well have them top off and keep an eye on the meter once a week or so.

I understand we will burn some but 2 qts after over 11k miles without losing not even a 1/2??? it was just odd that after installing a tune I would see some oil consumption I did not see before I want to feel more comfortable knowing it was more normal than just some freak thing with this motor. I plan on changing the oil this weekend so I will keep my eye on how much I burn (if any) till then. once I put in the 2 qts three days ago I checked the electronic gauge and it is at max, no drop. I just find it odd that 2 qts where gone like that!!!! pooof.....gone |
