1st. they want to sell car. they need to bring that car to the dealership to sell. 2nd You did not ask or request your car to bring to the dealership from germany. 3rd. when you customize your car or pre-order it. YOu have no choice. you need to pay for the destination charge. I have bargain many time at the dealer either for myself or for my friends or for my family member. about 90% of the time. they will wave it for you because they need to move that out so they can put new car in. Having car in the lot , it will cost them money to park there. No money for them to have car sitting there. They need to move car fast so they have bonuses and profit. |

Its amazing how confused these fees make people. Decide on a price for a specific car. Stick to it. Who cares how the dealer cuts the cake. The only thing that counts is the final cost. |

Right. I don't think you have a dealer remove the actual dest. fee (or TSF & Maco) but you can ask them to discount the car by a corresponding amount and more. Also, if you ask for too much off the front end they can get you at the back end, especially if you're leasing with marked-up acg. fee and MF (though you can try and negotiate those down also). Its a money-moving game.

Here's what many of you fail to realize:
Just because you don't see that you're paying MACO/Traning fee doesn't mean it's not included... |

I see this is an old thread that was brought back to life. The bottom line is if a person feels that the charges are legit, basically, they add roughly $400 and change to the price and take away from the discount, thereby adding to the negotiated "x over invoice" price. Instead of $1000 over invoice the buyer is getting say $1450. It's a trump card, kind of like a magician with slight of hand. The simple solution is negotiate an out the door price off list, or reduce the "x over invoice" by $500 when negotiating with the dealer, and when the fees are added, you got what you wanted.
Long story short is the dealers' screens do not match the edmund's invoice price. |

The market dictates the profit a dealer can make, just like it does for all of the industries that you work in.If home sales slow down, builders take less profit just to get rid of inventory.Mortgage companies close Home loan Centers( WA MU recently closed over 300 offices). One union painting contractor recently went from 248 painters a day on new construction , to 18 painters and it goes on and on........shop wisely ,but fairly and everyone wins ! |
