The ms-8 is commonly used by people with L7

The ms-8 is commonly used by people with L7 because the stock L7
amp is 9 channels and they have more speakers to power . The ms-8 comes in at 8 channels but only has built in head unit power on those channels.
The L7 can also be used by people with the ampless base system to overcome
the bad eq curve from the head unit in the base system without reprogramming the head unit to Hi Fi. Most that end up getting the ms-8
end up getting amps for at least the from doors and floors.

If you have a Hi Fi system or reprogram the Head Unit in the base system there is no need for the MS-8( or clean sweep) unless you like l7 surround or feel you need auto eq and a center channel.

Technics harness

What part number do you order for the Technics harness? I'm just looking for a straight swap...Have a weird situation where the subs are not responding and the front left midrange and tweeter are nonresponsive...

Pretty sure fried amp but not 100%

I don't think there was a part number. Just send a PM over to Technic and ask if he still makes those harnesses. From what I remember, the HiFi amp isn't all that great so your issue may be the amp.

I doubt many agree but I found the settings recco here were awful

The sound stage is shocking onn the stock car and the settings here leave it the same.

I found after a lot of trial and error a much nicer sound with stock HiFi speakers was

Front 180 min gain
Rear 200 gain between 7 and 8
Subs 190 gain past 9

However, its quite BASS light, but the improvement everywhere else was so much better I though it worthwhile, I subsequently added a small self powered Vibe Sub driven off Front low level inputs with gain at 9. This setup I'd say is how it should have come out the factory for a car of this ilk. Its OK I wouldn't go telling anyone it was anything special...

Of course, the lower you set the HP for the door speakers, the higher the soundstage will come. However, it will still suck royally and be all over the place until you give the system some time alignment and EQ.
