to the Q7's..

The 335d is terrific, it handles like no Audi i've ever driven (A4 1.9TDI, A6 3.0 TDI quattro, A3 3.2 DSG quattro, Q7 3.0TDI).

The Steptronic in BMW is far superior to the Tiptronic in Audi (not that it matters, the A5 is still manual only).

The A5 looks fantastic, but the other day two different guys in their A5's were just drooling when I was at the lights. Maybe it's just a case of the grass being greener on the other side.

I'm glad i bought a 335d over a A5 3.0TDI, or even an S5. I haven't driven them, but I know how Audi's drive, and I just don't like them.
you see its all about opinions and how we percieve things, God was in a humerous mood when he constructed the human. I wouldn't kick either of these cars out of my garage and none of us I presume ever drive on the limit 24/7 so the handling and all the DSC's etc probably are never engaged and how many have ever been to 155 but its nice to have the option as for 0 -60 6.1 5.9 these figures are all in the manufacturers head as is MPG which is ONLY a guide your driving style dictates your MPG. So whilst we all drive cars that do wonderful things on a test track 99% of us never (we hope) ever get to use all the gismos that come with the car. IMHO

well, maybe this pic could give a slight indication about built quality.

dont be fooled by performance figures and buy the car with the lowest 0-60. Might as well get a caterham or an evo if that's your aim.

Best option is to go test drive yourself.

I like a car that has:

i) Performance
ii) Comfort
iii) Practicality (boot *******

Both the A5 and 335 achieve all of these factors and I will consider both for my next purchase. The fact that one goes from 0-60 quicker than the other is not important to me

and evos and caterhams are only good for 0-60

0-100 is where its at

from a rolling start i was with a evo fq360 all the bleedin way:rocks:

standing start he would have mashed me

0-60 4.5 vs 0-60 in 5.5/5.7

Hmm.. I don't know how you got any of this from my post..

I've mentioned the looks of the interior, exterior, the gearbox and the way the car drives, and concluded that IMO the 335d is better than the A5.

I haven't at all mentioned track use of any of those vehicles, nor power, nor 0-60 times, nor MPG.

Like I say its all about opinions, I just expanded on the points I FEEL some people get hung up on when buying a new car. It is interesting how you have came to a decision however right or wrong it may be that the 335 is better than the S5 and the 3.0Tdi Quattro without you personally driving all three vehicles
I hope you will not feel annoyed and understand if I dismiss your opinion.

The A5 in most motoring journalists opinion is a completely NEW car quote Motoring express " The all-new Audi A5 which is going to be a sporty coupe adapting the design of Audi’s Nuvolari concept car."

True, I haven't driven either, but if Audi's chief engineer says something like this, do I really need to? Have in mind I've driven other Audi's and haven't liked the way they drive.

'Why the dull dynamics? And why waste all that effort in developing the new platform? Audi's chief chassis engineer agrees with our assessment and would like things to be different, but Audi's marketing department insisted that the A5 must feel familiar to existing Audi owners. Which suggests that a) those owners would be unable to appreciate an improvement, which is an odd stance to take, and b) that Audi isn't interested in attracting buyers from BMW. The marketeers have shot themselves in the foot, then.'

yes read the full review already ..........its Ch4 spin on what they thought went on, none of the words are directly attributable to the Ch Eng and its all about opinions and perception's yours I'm afraid is based on what you THINK is correct ie old Audi's, so its true what they say "there's none so blind as those who will not see"

Ah well, maybe you are right, maybe I am biased and maybe the A5 is actually better than the E92, but tbh, I don't really care, I'm currently in possession of a magnificent car and thought I could give some valuable input to this topic, but it seems that the A5 is light years ahead of all the other Audi's, so prior Audi experience is irrelevant.
I have nothing else to say, but .

Cheers
