Well technically, you apply most products wet by using a damp cloth or applicator. I always do anyway

In case of wax it is very unusual to apply it on a wet surface. Wax doesnt make sense then lol... Anyway the result was not so bad

Matrez, try this combination:
Clay: http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/ind...-clay-bar.html Lube/QD: http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/ind...ant-500ml.html If you've never clayed before you'll be AMAZED at the shit that comes off your paintwork! One bar will last 2 or 3 detailing sessions, possibly more. Polish: AutoGlym Super Resin Polish - buy from Halfords or Tesco It's really cheap but still considered one of the best polishes available to apply by hand. Glaze: http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/ind...r-glaze-1.html Glaze is optional when you're starting out IMO - it helps to fill some of the very fine scratches, but the SRP has a mild filler anyway so if your paintwork is ok it's probably unnecessary. Sealant: Jetseal 109 As mentioned above, the choice between wax and sealant is very personal. For me, on a metallic car, I'd use sealant every time. It tends to be longer lasting than wax too. Jetseal is renowned for its durability - I detailed my car 9 months ago and the water is still beading off the paintwork when it rains. I havent needed to touch it since! The Aqua Wax HotCoupe mentioned is also supposed to be very good, although I've never tried it myself.

I agree with what the others have said about the prep, is what makes the car stand out more.
Like i used to just use standard wash and wax from turtlewax. it looked alright , it only lasted for some time. Then i decided to buy some more detailing stuff. So went to halfords and bought these. Detar, clay bar, AG SRP and some AG high gloss. damn the difference was so much, i was like wtf. (sorry for the language). The one which makes the biggest difference is the clay bar. from the amount i took off the car, it looked like the car had not been clayed since the car had left the showroom( its a 2002 bmw e46 ). The wax i am using now is the Farcela G3 paste wax. Got it for a good price. car beads much better now. Once this is done, i will go and get some Collinte 476. Reviews on this is very good. Also tried Primo Amigo, its a glaze so used that too, makes a nice gloss finish to the paint. washed it like 3 weeks ago and it still has a glossy finish . Good luck with it mate. |

I hope it lasts for many months, however if you wash your car like I do every week, will the glaze and other stuff come off ? If there is mud on my car I will not leave it like that so will wash it... Once the summer comes I will rethink the products recommended here and choose some lol Ill defo make a thread about it and some info for anyone who didnt tried Thanks a lot !
